Boekenhoutskloof Goldmine 2024

The Boekenhoutskloof Goldmine is the white counterpart to the legendary "The Chocolate Block" and also pays homage to the spectacular vineyards around the Kasteelberg in South Africa's Swartland. Where gold prospectors once tried their luck, winemaker Marc Kent now finds another precious commodity: exceptional white wines with origin, depth and character. The name "Goldmine" symbolizes the natural diversity and richness of the Cape region. The cuvée of Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Semillon and a small proportion of Viognier combines power and elegance in an impressive way. Old vines, barren soils of granite, slate and quartz as well as the warm climate of the Swartland give the wine its characteristic tension and mineral freshness. The nose reveals ripe stone fruit, quince, pear and fine citrus notes, accompanied by wild fennel, subtle spices and a salty minerality. On the palate, the Boekenhoutskloof Goldmine is concentrated yet precise, with a creamy texture, lively acidity and a long, dry finish full of elegance.Part of the wine is matured in wooden barrels, providing additional depth and structure without masking the wine's freshness. The result is a multi-layered South African white wine with exceptional character and great ageing potential. The Boekenhoutskloof Goldmine harmonizes perfectly with roast chicken, grilled lobster, Mediterranean vegetable dishes or aromatic dishes with fennel and herbs. The ideal drinking temperature is 10-12 °C.The renowned Platter's Wine Guide awarded the Goldmine 5 stars and praised its complex aromas, fine minerality and impressive balance of fruit, structure and freshness in particular.

Boschkloof Kottabos Chenin Blanc Skin Contact 2025

The Kottabos Chenin Blanc Skin Contact from Boschkloof is a Chenin Blanc from Stellenbosch in which skin contact is deliberately used during aging to enhance color, texture, and aromatic intensity. Boschkloof describes the wine as its own example of this style. In skin contact winemaking, the must remains in contact with the grape skins before pressing. This gives the wine a deeper golden color, more structure, and a slightly grippy character. The method particularly enhances the fruit and spice notes and lends the Chenin Blanc additional depth. On the nose, the wine is intense, with aromas of apple, quince, and dried apricot, complemented by notes of orange marmalade, orange zest, and dried herbs. On the palate, it combines juicy fruit with a fine, slightly grippy texture and pronounced aromatic depth. This dry wine has a longer, spicier, and increasingly hearty finish. Thanks to its structure and aromatic intensity, the Kottabos Chenin Blanc Skin Contact is particularly well-suited to dishes with bold flavors and distinct textures. It pairs well, for example, with spicy lamb, tagines, charcuterie, or aged Cheddar.

Creation Estate Cool Climate Chenin Blanc 2025

The Creation Estate Cool Climate Chenin Blanc is an impressive white wine from the Creation Wines estate in South Africa, more precisely from the Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge - one of the coolest and most exciting wine regions in the country. Expressive, finely structured wines with excellent balance and minerality are produced here."A sense of essence, reduced to wonderful purity." Notes of lime and quince also enrich the bouquet. The interplay of aromas continues to unfold on the palate: fresh green apple and the creaminess of coconut milk in the background. "Becomes more mineral, more salty on the palate, subtle influence of oak, adds texture rather than flavor," Rudman judges. The grapes for the Creation Estate Cool Climate Chenin Blanc come from a 15-year-old vineyard in the higher and therefore cooler part of the Hemel-en-Aarde valley. The wine was matured for seven months in older French oak barrels.Serve this golden yellow white wine at a temperature of 8 to 10 degrees. Delheim Chenin Blanc Wild Ferment 2024

The grapes for the Delheim Chenin Blanc Wild Ferment come from two different blocks or vineyards on the Delheim estate in South Africa. The grapes were harvested at different times. The grapes harvested around 14 days earlier were destemmed and pressed directly. The longer-ripened grapes were pressed with stems, which gives the juice a stronger character. After the juice was separated from the rest of the grapes, it was placed in 500 liter barrels for natural fermentation. This fermentation on the fine lees lasted around 3 months, after which the fermentation was stopped by clarification. No filtering took place in order to preserve the aromatic compounds in the wine. The Delheim Chenin Blanc Wild Ferment has a straw-yellow color with greenish reflections. The nose reveals aromas of peach, apricot and other tropical fruits. A subtle hint of caramel can also be detected. The beautifully balanced acidity and light barrel aromas underpin these impressions on the palate. A citrus note underlines the balance between fruit and acidity. In combination with goat's cheese, smoked salmon or Asian cuisine, this white wine is a real treat. This wine is vegan.
