Der Ernie Els The Big Easy Chenin Blanc ist ein vielseitiger Weißwein aus Südafrika, der die Exzellenz der Chenin Blanc-Rebsorte mit der entspannenden Eleganz verbindet, die für die Weine von Ernie Els typisch ist.

Im Glas zeigt sich der Chenin Blanc in einem hellen, strohgelben Farbton mit goldenen Reflexen. In der Nase entfalten sich Aromen von Ananas, weißen Blumen und einer salzigen Meeresbrise. Am Gaumen dominieren Noten von saftigen Mangos, reifen grünen Birnen und einem Hauch Limette. Eine kühle, limettengetränkte Säure durchströmt den Gaumen, erfrischend und formend.

In Golfkreisen ist der südafrikanische Golfer Ernie Els eine Legende. Das nach ihm benannte Weingut erzeugt unter dem Winemaker Louis Strydom preisgekrönte Weine. Insgesamt werden vier Kollektionen – Signature, Major Series, Big Easy und Proprietor’s hergestellt, diese verkörpern den beliebten Charakter und das gefeierte Prestige des Namensgebers. Das Weingut wurde 2005 offiziell eröffnet und konzentriert sich seitdem auf die Herstellung einer Reihe von Weinen, insbesondere Cabernet Sauvignon. Durch die jüngsten Renovierungsarbeiten ist das Weingut zu einem ikonischen Symbol der Region Helderberg in Stellenbosch geworden.

This elegant Chenin Blanc from South Africa from the Babylonstoren winery shimmers in the glass in a pale straw yellow. The white wine has a stimulating, fresh and fruity aroma of white peach, guava, ripe pineapple, lemon curd and winter melon (wax gourd): a seductively multi-faceted bouquet.On the palate, the Babylonstoren Chenin Blanc is dry, crisp, fresh and wonderfully aromatic. The variety of tropical fruits is underpinned by aromas of gooseberries and pears. Masterfully balanced, with a fine play of acidity.A small proportion of this elegant South African white wine (10%) was matured in 4000-liter French oak barrels as well as in Nomblot concrete eggs and terracotta clay amphorae.Enjoy the Chenin Blanc at a drinking temperature of 10 to 12 degrees. This little feast for the senses from the slopes of the Simonsberg between the wine-growing regions of Franschhoek, Stellenbosch and Paarl is an ideal accompaniment to roast thyme chicken on a bed of kohlrabi and carrots with pasta, pickled salmon with honey-mustard sauce or a rocket and mango salad with pine nuts.
