Lanzerac Le General is a so-called Bordeaux Blend, which would be assigned to the left bank in Bordeaux, i.e. the Médoc region. This style has its origins in the classic blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Petit Verdot and Merlot.The grapes for this wine all come from the estate's best vineyards in the Jonkershoek Valley in Stellenbosch. the wine matured for 20 months in 1st and 2nd fill French oak barrels. This full-bodied blend announces vanilla and nutmeg spices before a flood of dark berries, cooked plums and blackcurrants hit the palate. Dark chocolate and a hint of smoke are supported by powerful, soft tannins and an endless finish. This vintage has already reached drinking maturity. Decanting recommended.Enjoy this wine with braised rack of lamb with fennel and orange or with a white chocolate mousse with cherries.

Der Le Riche Vogelzang Cabernet Sauvignon Cinsaut ist eine faszinierende Rotweincuvee, die das Beste aus zwei edlen Rebsorten vereint. Aus dem renommierten Weingut Le Riche in Südafrika stammend, spiegelt dieser Wein die reiche Weinbautradition der Region wider und bietet ein unvergleichliches Geschmackserlebnis, das sowohl Kraft als auch Eleganz in sich vereint.Optisch begeistert der Wein mit einer tiefen Pflaumenfarbe, die bereits seine Intensität und Tiefe ankündigt. In der Nase entfaltet der Le Riche Vogelzang ein komplexes Aromenspektrum von schwarzen Johannisbeeren, Brombeeren, Cassis, Granatapfel und Zedernholz. Am Gaumen zeigen Noten von dunkler Schokolade und Lakritz. Die saftige Fruchtfülle des Cabernet Sauvignon wird von der Frische und Eleganz des Cinsaut perfekt balanciert. Weiche Tannine und eine gut integrierte Säurestruktur verleihen dem Wein eine angenehme Trinkbarkeit und eine lange, finessenreiche Persistenz. Der Abgang ist geprägt von reifen Beerenfrüchten, dezenten Gewürzen und einer feinen mineralischen Note. Die 20-monatige Fassreife macht den Vogelzang von Le Riche zudem zu einem hervorragenden Begleiter zu herzhaften Gerichten wie Lammkarree, gegrilltem Rindfleisch oder Wild. Auch zu würzigen Eintöpfen, reifem Käse oder dunkler Schokolade entfaltet er seine ganze Pracht.Seinen Namen Vogelzang (Gesang der Vögel) erhält der Wein von den ursprünglichen Eigentumsurkunden des Kaps, die vor über drei Jahrhunderten (17. Mai 1702) an eine der ersten freien Bürger von Stellenbosch, Sara Tas, verliehen wurde. Die Farm teilte den Sinai-Hügel von Helderberg auf, der im Volksmund als Berg Sinai bekannt ist und im Laufe der darauffolgenden Zeit viel Dramatisches erlebte, von respektlosen Pfarrern, frühem Feminismus, politischer Gehorsamsverweigerung bis hin zu magischer Heilerde. Es war auch eines der ersten Gebiete des Kaps, in dem Weinreben für den Weinanbau gepflanzt wurden, noch vor dem historischen Vergelegen-Anwesen und kurz nach der Bepflanzung von Groot Constantia.

After temperature-controlled fermentation, the wine matures for 12 months in French oak barrels to give it additional depth and elegance.In the glass, the Meerlust Red is a deep ruby red with violet reflections. In line with tradition, Morgenster also produces a second Bordeaux-style wine in South Africa. The Morgenster Lourens River Valley is a blend consisting of the Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot grape varieties, produced with the advisory assistance of Pierre Lurton from Chateau Cheval Blanc in Bordeaux. The philosophy aims at creating an accessible wine that particularly reflects the fruit aromas so typical of the terroir, and simultaneously ensuring longevity. The wine is a bright, opaque ruby-red in the glass. On the nose, it offers lovely cherry aromas, complemented by notes of strawberry tarts and cassis. After the Morgenster Lourens River Valley has breathed for a while, it shows aromas of liquorice, vanilla and spices, accompanied by fruity nuances of plums, mulberries and raspberries. The wine is silky and smooth on the palate, offering a delicious fruity sweetness. The elegant tannins develop a lovely balance between ripe berry aromas and a great freshness. Henry Kotze, cellar master at Morgenster, speaks of a worthwhile wine that gains in complexity after it is decanted.The Morgenster Lourens River Valley goes beautifully with roast duck, poultry and ostrich. Neethlingshof Caracal 2020

Der Neethlingshof Caracal ist ein Wein aus der Short Story Collection. Die Geschichte, die sich um diesen Wein rangt, zeigt den Einsatz des Weingutes für die Natur. Der Caracal ist ein afrikanischer Luchs (Rooikats). Die Wildkatzenart konnte durch gezielte Erhaltung und Sanierung der Lebensräume wieder auf der Farm angesiedelt werden. Jetzt wird dies durch das Label und den Namen des Weines gewürdigt. Die Farbe des Neethlingshof Caracal ist intensiv dunkelrot. In der Nase sind wunderschöne Pflaumen-, Johannisbeer- und Kirscharomen wahrnehmbar. Hinzu kommen Noten von Eichen- und Zedernholz sowie Vanilletöne. Am Gaumen zeigt sich der Wein körperreich, muskulös und weich. Die festen, aber geschmeidigen Tanninen tragen zur kräftigen Struktur bei. Der Caracal ist im Bordeaux-Stil ausgebaut und reifte für 16 Monate auf einer Kombination aus französischen und amerikanischen Holzfässern. Der trockene Rotwein passt hervorragend zu Steak, Ochsenschwanz, Beef Stroganoff, Ratatouille und gereiftem Käse.Der südafrikanische Wein ist vegan.

Der Wein The Owl Post Pinotage von Neethlingshof stammt aus dem gleichnamigen Weinberg. Unter anderem in diesem Weinberg wird mit einem integrierten Schädlingsmanagement gearbeitet, was ein Teil des Fokus ist auf das sich das Weingut Neethlingshof konzentriert. Dafür wurden Eulenpfähle im Weinberg platziert umso eine natürliche Schädlingsbekämpfung zu unterstützen und den Einsatz von Pestiziden zu verringern. Die Weinberge wurden 1997 bepflanzt und sind reich an organischem Material. Sie liegen auf einer Höhe von 120 Metern und bestehen vornehmlich aus zersetztem Granit. Der Neethlingshof The Owl Post Pinotage hat eine tiefrote Farbe, eine komplexe Textur mit schwarzen und roten Früchten. Die Tannine sind wunderbar eingebunden und werden von einer feinen Säure unterstützt. Das Bouquet zeigt reife Fruchtaromen, unter anderem Banane. Im Hintergrund stellt sich eine schöne Vanillenote ein. Am Gaumen wiederholen sich Reife und Fruchtintensität. Der The Owl Post Pinotage ist reichhaltig und samtig.
