The Cellar Selection Pinot Grigio from Kleine Zalze Wines comes from carefully selected vineyards in the Western Cape of South Africa, primarily the Breede River Valley and Stellenbosch, where light and warmth provide optimal conditions for fresh, fruity grapes.Hand-picking takes place in the early hours of the morning, followed by immediate whole bunch pressing. Only the free juice is used to retain the ethereal aromas, which then undergo a quiet fermentation. After fermentation, the wine matures for around five months on the fine lees, which gives it additional depth and length.In the glass, it is a pale straw yellow with delicate green reflections. The nose seduces with aromas of white peach, ripe pear and a hint of lime blossom - a seductive blend that rests on fine stone fruit notes. Dieses liegt unter anderem daran, dass die Trauben von 40 Jahre alten Buschreben stammen und in der südafrikanischen Region Stellenbosch hervorragende Wachstumsbedingungen finden. Die Gärung und Reifung wurde unter Verwendung von gebrauchten französischen Eichenfässern vorgenommen um die zarte Frucht des Chenin Blanc zu schützen. Es wurde bewusst auf eine Filtration vor dem Abfüllen verzichtet um die aromatische Frucht in vollem Umfang zu erhalten.
