Robert Mondavis Weinberg Wappo Hill befindet sich mit 400 Hektar unterhalb der steilen, zerklüfteten Klippen der Stags Leap Palisades im amerikanischem Nappa Valley. Die Region wird vor allem von kiesigen und lehmigen Böden beherrscht. Durch die Nachmittagssonne die von den Klippen reflektiert wird und einer Seebrise, die für kühle Morgen- und Abendtemperaturen sorgt, werden Weine mit ausgewogener Säure, samtiger Textur und reifen Fruchtaromen geboren.

Der reinsortige Stags Leap Karia Chardonnay Napa Valley ist ein anmutiger Chardonnay mit Aromen von Zitrusfrüchten und subtilen Noten von tropischen Früchten zusammen mit Aprikose, gerösteten Mandeln und Orangenblüten. Mittel bis vollmundig, hat der Wein eine seidige Textur und einen erfrischenden und geschmackvollen Abgang mit einem Hauch von Mineralität.

Stag's Leap Wine Cellars

Das Napa-Valley ist die Weinbauregion Kaliforniens. Es hat sich seine berühmten Namen gemacht durch die Produktion außergewöhnlicher Cabernet Sauvignon. Auch das Weingut Stag's Leap gehört in den illustren Kreis der Produzenten ganz besonderer Cabernet Sauvignon Weine. Im Jahre 1893 wurde das Weingut gegründet und seit 1970 befand es sich in den Händen von Warren und Barbara Winiarski. Bereits 1976 sorgten die Weine von Stag's Leap bei der berühmten Blindverkostung in Paris für ungeheures Aufsehen, als sie sofort erste Plätze eroberten. Der Cabernet Sauvignon, der seinerzeit siegte, wuchs auf noch nicht einmal 4 Jahre alten Weinbergen. Stags Leap steht für außergewöhnliche und qualitativ hochwertige Spitzen-Weine. Das Weingut gehört, besonders beim Cabernet Sauvignon, zur Weltspitze. Bei der Blindprobe 2005 bestätigte Stag's Leap seine Position.

Im August 2007 verkaufte Winiarski das Weingut. Der Tabak und Lebensmittelkonzern Altria besitzt heute rund die Hälfte des erfolgreichen Weingutes, was der Qualität keinen Abbruch tat. Schließlich blieb die erfolgreiche Mannschaft bei Stag's Leap zusammen. Der Arcadia-Weinberg ist heute noch im Besitz der Familie Winiarski und auf Vertragsbasis produzieren sie weiterhin Wein.

The Buena Vista Chardonnay Carneros is a Chardonnay produced in the Burgundy style and comes from the wine-growing region of Carneros located north of Sonoma, California. All of the wine matured in wooden casks. Subsequently, it was aged for 12 months in French and Hungarian oak casks, of which 25% were new French oak barrels. The Buena Vista Chardonnay Carneros is a beautiful honey yellow in the glass and is redolent of very sweet apples, marzipan and peach blossoms, underpinned by notes of pears and lemon, complemented by nuances of vanilla and spices. The medium-bodied wine bathes the palate with a pleasing balance. A clear, fine acidity gives the Buena Vista Chardonnay Carneros a wonderful finish.
