Sie wurden in einer Kombination aus großformatigen Eichenfässern älterer Herkunft, neuen 225 Liter Eichenfässern (sogenannten Barriquefässern) und im Edelstahltank fermentiert und gereift. Die daraus entstandene Mischung offeriert eine Vielzahl verschiedener Aromen. In der Nase zeigt sich Kalkstein, Orangenblüte, Creme Brulee, Butterscotch und deutliche Vanille. Der Steenberg Sphynx Chardonnay schmeckt nach Trockenobst von Apfel und Birne. Der Wein ist elegant und seidig mit einer cremigen Textur. Im Abgang sehr stabil und leicht mineralisch.
