Sie wurden in einer Kombination aus großformatigen Eichenfässern älterer Herkunft, neuen 225 Liter Eichenfässern (sogenannten Barriquefässern) und im Edelstahltank fermentiert und gereift. Die daraus entstandene Mischung offeriert eine Vielzahl verschiedener Aromen. In der Nase zeigt sich Kalkstein, Orangenblüte, Creme Brulee, Butterscotch und deutliche Vanille. Der Steenberg Chardonnay schmeckt nach Trockenobst von Apfel und Birne. Der Wein ist elegant und seidig mit einer cremigen Textur. Steenberg Five Lives Red Blend

Eine Hommage an die Gründerin von Steenberg, Catharina Ras. Five Lives symbolisiert ihre Lebensgeschichte, die in fünf Kapiteln beschrieben werden kann. Eine Frau, die Ihren Mut nutzte, sich anzupassen und jeder neuen Herausforderung fern von Ihrer Heimat Lübeck trotzte.Die Weinberge für den südafrikanischen Steenberg Five Lives Red Blend liegen auf altem Granit in der Region Westkap. Merlot und Cabernet Sauvignon werden in Edelstahltanks vinifiziert. Vor der Gärung werden 10-15 % des Saftes von den Schalen entfernt, um den Körper und die Fülle zu verbessern. Beide Sorten werden 14 Tage lang getrennt auf den Schalen vergoren. Zweimal am Tag wird abgepumpt, um Farbe und Tannin zu extrahieren. Nach der Gärung werden sie getrennt in kleine französische Eichenfässer umgefüllt. Die malolaktische Gärung findet im Fass statt und der Wein reift 20 Monate lang. Anschließend wird der Wein verschnitten und vor der Abfüllung leicht geklärt.Im Glas zeigt sich der Rotwein in einer intensiven dunkelroten Farbe mit einem helleren Granatrot am Rand. Die Nase umspielen Aromen von Schwarzer Johannisbeere, Cassis, Noten von Erde, Basilikum und Pflaume. Der Wein ist mittelkräftig bis vollmundig und zeigt eine seidige Textur und Tiefe sowie eine elegante Tanninstruktur. Noch lange nach dem letzten Schluck prägen den Gaumen pikantes Pesto aus sonnengetrockneten Tomaten, Tabakgewürz, Kirsche und Zimt. Der Merlot bildet das Rückgrat dieses Weins mit sauberen, hellen Früchten, die ihm subtile Frische verleihen. Der Cabernet Sauvignon bringt ein formales, ernsthaftes Profil in die Mischung ein.

She describes Constantia Uitsig's creation as "lively, taut and tangy, with characteristic lime zest and white pepper".The history of viticulture in the Constantia Uitsig vineyards dates back to the 16th century. The vineyard is located between Table Mountain (15 kilometers north of Constantia Uitsig) and False Bay (10 kilometers south). The conditions for viticulture are ideal here.
