Aslina Umsasane Red Blend

The Umsasane from Aslina Wines combines the characterful craftsmanship of the boutique winery Aslina Wines with the power and elegance of classic South African red wines. Made from 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Cabernet Franc and 12% Petit Verdot, the grapes were harvested by hand at optimum ripeness. After fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wine underwent malolactic fermentation in barrels and then matured for 16 months in French oak barrels, 15% of which were new barrels, before being bottled.

In the glass, the Umsasane has a deep red, intense color and seduces the nose with complex aromas of black cherries, apricot jam, lavender and fine herbal notes. On the palate, this red wine is elegant and multi-layered, with hints of green bell pepper, vanilla and a harmonious combination of fruit and earth. The supple tannins and balanced structure make it enjoyable now and at the same time open up potential for further ageing.

Enjoy Aslina Umsasane at 16-18 °C with hearty red meat dishes such as lamb, beef or game, braised meat or rich stews. It also unfolds its complex aromas on its own and offers an elegant pleasure experience.

Hartenberg Estate Cabernet Sauvignon
The Hartenberg Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is a first-class red wine from the esteemed Stellenbosch wine region in South Africa. The Hartenberg wine estate, known for its outstanding Cabernet Sauvignons, perfectly expresses the power of the grape variety and the elegance of South African terroirs with this wine. Intense, multi-layered and with excellent ageing potential, this red wine is convincing across the board. The grapes ripen in selected plots under optimal conditions: hot days and cool nights ensure a slow, even development of the aromas. After careful manual harvesting, the grapes are fermented traditionally to preserve the characteristic fruit aromas and tannins. The wine then matures for 18 months in French oak barrels, which gives it additional depth, fine roasted aromas and an elegant spiciness. In the glass, the Hartenberg Estate Cabernet Sauvignon shimmers a deep ruby red with violet reflections. A complex bouquet of blackcurrants, cassis and violets unfolds on the nose, complemented by fine notes of cedar wood and liquorice. On the palate, it is powerful with velvety tannins and striking and intense aromas of black plums and mulberries, accompanied by a subtle smoky note. The finish is long and pleasantly fresh. The Hartenberg Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is an excellent accompaniment to grilled steak, braised lamb or game dishes. It also unfolds its full potential with mature hard cheese or dark chocolate with a high cocoa content.

Thelema "The Mint"
Thelema The Mint comes from the Stellenbosch region in South Africa. The wine has a long tradition and is proven to be one of the best Cabernet Sauvignons in the country. The origin of the "mint" character is attributed to the transfer of air from the eucalyptus trees bordering this particular Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard to the grapes. The outer wax layer of the berries adsorbs eucalyptol, a compound responsible for the aroma, which is released into the air by the trees. It then dissolves on the skins during the fermentation process, inevitably giving the wine a "minty" character that is unique to this vineyard. In the glass, the wine is a deep dark red. The nose is characterized by aromas of ripe red berries, cassis and dark chocolate. On the palate, a hint of mint complements the opulent overall impression. The wine has fine tannins with a long mocha finish.Maturing for 18 months in wooden barrels, with 40% new French oak and 60% older barrels, gives Thelema The Mint depth and longevity. Try this exceptional wine with roast lamb, for example.Make sure you get a few bottles, as the wine is already sold out from the winery.
