Der Cantine Cellaro Due Lune hat ein tiefes, undurchdringliches Rubinrot. Sambuca di Sicilia, im Mittelalter Zabut genannt, ist eine Stadt im westlichen Teil der Provinz Agrigent auf Sizilien an den Ausläufern der Monti Sicani. Sambuca wurde zu Lebzeiten des Emir Zabut um 830 von ihm gegründet, unmittelbar nach der Landung der Araber in Sizilien. Hier, an diesem historischen Ort, befindet sich die Cantina Cellaro.

Sie wurde 1969 gegründet und begann das Geschäft mit Wein im Jahr 1972. Die Cantina besteht heute aus mehr als fünfhundert Mitgliedern und bewirtschaftet eine Fläche von über 1.500 Hektar Weinberge. Seit 1980, nach fast einem Jahrzehnt Erfahrung, entschieden sich die Mitglieder, ihre Produkte direkt vor Ort abzufüllen. Die Trauben von Cellaro genießen die Vorteile der außergewöhnlichen klimatischen Bedingungen der umliegenden Hügel um Sambuca, die bis zu 700 Meter über dem Meeresspiegel erreichen. Die Böden sind tonhaltig und mit Kalkstein durchsetzt. Das Klima ist sehr mild das ganze Jahr über. Besonders die Weine aus Nero d'Avola Reben und Nerello Mascalese bieten außergewöhnliche Ergebnisse bei Cantina Cellaro. Die Cantina ist heute Teil von Farnese Vini, einem der führenden Exportunternehmen für Wein aus Süditalien mit einer Produktion von fast 13 Millionen Flaschen.
