Farnese Edizione Cinque Autoctoni VDT 23

The strong, aromatic red wine Farnese Edizione Cinque Autoctoni surprises with its hearty bouquet and very characterful notes of chocolate and espresso. Well tempered, it is irresistible with hearty dishes such as game and meat. Let this "jack of all trades" convince you.

The dry red wine Farnese Edizione Cinque Autoctoni is a marvel of aromas, as the multifaceted bouquet of the deep dark red wine, which sometimes shimmers dark purple or even black, unfolds as soon as the bottle is opened. Aromas of dark fruits such as morello cherries, blackberries, cassis, plums, elderberries and raspberries rise to the nose, accentuated by caramel, mocha, dark chocolate and pepper. If you delve further into this multi-faceted bouquet, you will recognize hints of leather and cedar wood.

The extraordinary flavor composition unfolds fully with the first sip. Now it is boiled berries, espresso aromas and the sweet nuance of vanilla that delight the tongue. This unusual red wine from the Italian winery Farnese Vini was made from the grape varieties Montepulciano, Primitivo, Sangiovese, Negroamaro and Malvasia Nera. After fermentation, the wine matured separately for 12 months in barriques. Of this, 60% was in American oak and the rest in French oak.

It is best enjoyed at a drinking temperature between 18 and 20 °C and with hearty dishes such as game, red meat, spicy cheeses and rich sauces.

This is the 2021 vintage in a special edition from 2023.
