Dieser Barolo von Paolo Manzone ist ein Fest für die Sinne. Vielschichtige Noten von roten und schwarzen Beeren sowie prägende Noten von Kirschen und Pflaumen dominieren das intensive Bouquet des Paolo Manzone Barolo Serralunga. Zur eindrucksvollen Komplexität tragen darüber hinaus eher unterschwellige Noten von Tabak, Mokka und Unterholz bei, dazu eine feine Würze von Rosenblättern, Pfeffer, Muskatnuss und Vanille sowie von Teer und Holz.

Am Gaumen ist dieser Nebbiolo aus dem Piemont trocken und kraftvoll, mit mittlerem Körper und schon jetzt wunderbar eingebundenen Tanninen. Mit den Jahren wird der Gaumen an Geschmeidigkeit gewinnen. Das Aromenspiel ist absolut faszinierend und ein wesentlicher Grund, warum der Wein 93 Punkte von Luca Maroni und 91 Punkte von James Suckling erhält. Aromen von Kirsche und Pflaume im Zusammenspiel mit erdigen Tönen sowie Aromen von Nuss, Rauch, Tabak, Orangenschale und Kakao. Auch Nuancen von Pfeffer, Wacholder und Piment.

Die Trauben stammen von Lagen in der Gemeinde Serralunga d'Alba im Barolo, die Rebstöcke sind im Schnitt etwa 25 Jahre alt. Der rubinrote Wein reifte für 24 Monate im Eichenholz, davon mindestens 60% in großen slawonischen Holzfässern (3.000 Liter), der übrige Teil in französischen Tonneaux (350 Liter Volumen).

The Nebbiolo Lange DOC from the Italian winery Pio Cesare in Piedmont is a pure Nebbiolo. The world-famous Barolo and Barbaresco wines are also made from this well-known grape.
