Tinto Pesquera Crianza

Tinto Pesquera is the red wine with which the Fernández Rivera family has made a name for itself in the international wine world since the 1980s. This outstanding Spanish Tempranillo, hailed as a top wine by Robert Parker, has also played a key role in the Ribera del Duero wine region in northern Spain’s impressive success story over the past decades. So treat yourself to the Fernández Rivera Tinto Pesquera Crianza—a Spanish red wine in a class of its own.

This intensely garnet-red wine offers seductive aromas of dark fruits such as plums, black cherries, and mulberries, complemented by harmonious, spicy notes of cinnamon, vanilla, licorice, and tobacco.

James Suckling awards the Fernández Rivera Tinto Pesquera Crianza 93 points. He writes about the bouquet of this single-varietal Tempranillo, which was aged for 16 months in barriques: “Fresh black plums and black cherries that take on the oak spice, along with a hint of tobacco.”

On the palate, the Tinto Pesquera Crianza is dry and powerful, with a beautiful, fruit-forward depth of flavor (mulberries, licorice, dried figs). The fine-grained tannins are wonderfully integrated, and the spicy finish lingers for a very long time.

Suckling is also full of praise: “An engaging and juicy Ribera del Duero with pleasantly soft tannins that lend structure to the concentrated fruit. Long and clean. Ready to drink now, but it’s better to give it a year to soften.” This Tempranillo is guaranteed to be a delight until 2032.

Discover this creation from the Fernández Rivera family at a serving temperature of 15 to 17 degrees. We recommend decanting it 30 minutes before serving. This elegant, refined red wine is a perfect pairing with grilled meat, suckling pig, or milk-fed lamb with rosemary. It’s also an excellent choice with aged cheeses.

Roda DOC Reserva
An excellent vintage in Rioja and an outstanding Roda. The composition of 89% Tempranillo, a proportion of Graciano and Garnacha smells wonderfully of sweet cherries, black fruits and nuances of Mediterranean herbs. Added to this is the wonderfully integrated oak. The deep red Roda DOC Reserva is lush and full on the palate. Very fruity at the beginning, with enormous balance and finely polished tannins. The finish of this dry red wine is again characterized by great, fresh fruitiness. The grapes come from bush vines that are more than 30 years old, i.e. vines that have not undergone wire-frame training. The Spanish wine was matured for 14 months in barriques, with 40% new and 60% second-fill barrels being used. The wine then matured for 30 months in the bottle. "This wine has the profile to become a great seller," writes Luis Gutierrez in the Wine Advocate.Discover the Roda DOC Reserva with medium to strong stews with chicken or beef, for example. The Enate Crianza DO consists mainly of Tempranillo and a smaller percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon. This Spanish blend is redolent of ripe, dark berries and nuances of coffee and chocolate, complemented by a lovely minerality and subtle toasted and caramel aromas. On the palate, it is full-bodied, with nicely integrated tannins and a long finish offering toasted notes. The Enate Crianza DO matured for 9 months in oak casks and for a further 18 months in the bottle. Enjoy this red wine with pasta dishes with tomato sauce, hearty meals with pork and beef, game dishes or various hard cheeses.
