Barista Pinotage 2024

A South African taste experience of intense, rich coffee and chocolate aromas with nuances of ripe mulberries, plums and cherries.This dry red wine is also the perfect accompaniment to food. It pairs very well with dark meat, creamy casseroles and even intense desserts. Also a great accompaniment to blue cheese or Belgian chocolate. Vinified ready to drink from the start for immediate enjoyment. We recommend 18 °C as the ideal drinking temperature.The Barista Pinotage from the Val De Vie vineyard is made from 100% Pinotage grapes from the Robertson region. The grapes were picked at optimum ripeness in mid-February and divided into different batches and treated in different ways.Certain batches were treated by short heating to optimize color and then returned to the skins for alcoholic fermentation. Other batches were pasteurized and immediately fermented on oak to achieve the dark, rich coffee flavors. Still other batches were fermented conventionally on the skins and pumped over several times during alcoholic fermentation and racked into French oak to complete fermentation. All batches were stabilized by malolactic fermentation in French oak.

The Barramundi Shiraz unites notes of plums, fruit cake, dark berries, vanilla and pepper in its bouquet, complemented by a fine spice. This red wine from Australia is wonderfully accessible and fruity, beautifully expressing the philosophy behind the Barramundi wines.The Shiraz is full-bodied, aromatic and fleshy on the palate, with silky tannins. This pure varietal Shiraz was aged for six months in new American oak casks. The grapes come from the Murray Darling region located in Victoria, where two of Australia’s biggest rivers flow together. You’ll want to discover the Barramundi Shiraz with aubergine parmigiana, a grilled T-bone steak with Café de Paris butter or fruity panforte, the sweet pastry from Italy.

Batasiolo Barbera d’Alba DOC 2023

Rubinrot mit violetten Reflexen schimmert der Batasiolo Barbera d’Alba im Glas. Der Rotwein aus dem Piemont duftet herrlich anregend nach Pflaumen und Kirschen. Dazu bereichern florale Noten das Bukett (Veilchen und Rosen). Hintergründige, würzige Noten komplettieren den Duftstrauß.Am Gaumen ist der Rotwein aus dem Piemont vollmundig und trocken, mit einer angenehm milden Säure, viel Fruchtigkeit (süßliche, schwarze Früchte), Nuancen von Schokolade und einer tollen Frische. Das Finale ist angenehm weich. Die Trauben für den Batasiolo Barbera D'Alba werden in Edelstahltanks vergoren. Etwa 40 Prozent des Weines reifte für ein Jahr in Barriques aus französischer Eiche heran, der übrige Teil in großen Holzfässern aus slawonischer Eiche. Nach der Vermählung des Weins ruht er noch für gut zwei Monate im Edelstahltank.

Batasiolo Barbera d’Asti DOCG 2023

Dieser Rotwein aus dem Piemont ist eine ideale Wahl, um sich etwas zu gönnen und den Alltag mit einem Glas Batasiolo Barbera d’Asti ausklingen zu lassen. Batasiolo Dolcetto d’Alba DOC 2022

Anregend fruchtige Noten von Kirschen und Brombeeren prägen das Bukett des Batasiolo Dolcetto d’Alba. Dazu kommen florale Noten von Blauregen (Glyzinie) und Nuancen von aromatischen Kräutern. Am Gaumen ist die rubinrot schimmernde Kreation aus dem Piemont voll und rund, mit einer sehr guten Balance von delikaten Tanninen und angenehmer Säure. Seine tolle Frische, die gute Struktur und die schöne, fruchtbetonende Länge runden das Geschmackserlebnis ab, das im Finale auch nach Mandeln schmeckt und leicht bitter ist.Der reinsortige Dolcetto wurde bewusst nicht im Eichenholz ausgebaut, um die typischen Aromen der italienischen Rebsorte voll und „unverfälscht“ zur Geltung zu bringen. Die Familie Dogliani, die seit 1978 Weinbau auf ihren herausragenden Lagen, den „Beni di Batasiolo” im Piemont betreibt, zeigt auch hier ihre Weinbaukunst. Die Trauben für den Batasiolo Dolcetto d’Alba stammen von Hügeln rund um die Stadt Alba, auf der rechten Seite des Flusses Tanaro.

Batasiolo Langhe Nebbiolo DOC 2022

The Batasiolo Langhe Nebbiolo combines stimulating fruity notes of raspberries and cherries with nuances of floral tones and a beautiful spiciness in its bouquet. On the palate, this single-varietal Nebbiolo is dry, powerful and harmonious. The depth and variety of aromas are impressive, with notes of cocoa, mint and tobacco creating a great taste experience. The dense, pleasantly integrated tannins, the beautiful freshness and the lingering finish also characterize this red wine from Piedmont.Refined in Slavonian oak barrels, Batasiolo Langhe Nebbiolo shimmers ruby red in the glass. It is another great creation from the Dogliani family, who have been growing wine on their outstanding vineyards, the "Beni di Batasiolo" in Piedmont, since 1978.Enjoy this Nebbiolo at a drinking temperature of 16 to 18 degrees. Thanks to its strength and spiciness, this red wine from northern Italy is a good accompaniment to more robust dishes. The Bellevue Atticus is a typical Cape blend of Pinotage, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, vinified by the traditional Bellevue wine estate in Stellenbosch. Named after one of the estate's legendary Arabian stallions, this wine stands for power, elegance and long ageing potential.In the glass, the Bellevue Atticus is deep dark with intense aromas of dark plums, ripe berries and a fine vanilla note from the wood. On the palate, it is concentrated, juicy and structured, with well-integrated tannins and a long finish. It is powerful and robust when young, developing elegance and depth over time.The grapes come from selected plots with high-quality vine material. Pinotage is cultivated as a bush vine, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot on a wire frame. After being harvested by hand, the grapes were cold macerated and fermented for around four days. The red wine then matured for eleven months in French and American oak, around a third of which was in new barrels.A versatile accompaniment to lamb dishes, braised meat or a classic Sunday roast. Aged cheese or hearty mushroom dishes also go perfectly with it. Recommended drinking temperature: 16-18°C

Bellevue Cinsault 2022

The Bellevue Cinsault comes from one of South Africa's most traditional wine estates. Rooted in Stellenbosch, the Bellevue family winery is one of the pioneers of this versatile grape variety, which was once known as Hermitage. Today, Bellevue is reinterpreting Cinsault as a fresh, fruity red wine with moderate alcohol and a fine structure, ideal for the warmer months of the year.Bellevue Cinsault has a bright ruby red color in the glass and a lively, fragrant nose. Aromas of raspberry, strawberry, sour cherry and a hint of beet characterize the bouquet. On the palate, the red wine is medium-bodied, silky and fresh, with a subtle spiciness and supple tannins that blend harmoniously into the overall picture.The grapes come from old bush vines planted between 1994 and 1996. After gentle pressing, the must was fermented immediately. Fermentation lasted around four days, accompanied by daily pumping over for gentle extraction. The wine underwent malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks and then matured on the fine lees. Ageing took place in French and American oak, which gives the wine structure and depth without masking the fruit.This Cinsault is an ideal accompaniment to beef carpaccio, grilled tuna, antipasti or summer vegetable dishes. Thanks to its freshness and fine structure, it can also be served slightly chilled - perfect for the terrace or a picnic.Best served at 14-16°C - slightly chilled, it reveals its fresh, summery elegance to optimum effect.

Bellevue Pinotage 2020

Bellevue Pinotage comes from one of South Africa's most traditional wine estates. The winery in Stellenbosch planted one of the very first Pinotage vineyards back in 1953 - making it one of the pioneers of this unique grape variety. Pinotage is a cross between Pinot Noir and Cinsault and is now a true flagship of South African viticulture. The vines grow on different soils, mostly as so-called bush vines, which were planted between 1959 and 1996.The Bellevue Pinotage is fruity and lively in the glass. Aromas of red plum, cherry and raspberry are in the foreground, complemented by a pleasant spiciness and fine roasted aromas from the wooden barrel. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, juicy and elegant, with silky tannins and a harmonious, long-lasting finish. The fresh acidity also makes it particularly versatile with food.The grapes are harvested by hand and briefly cold crushed before fermentation to preserve color and fruit. The red wine then ferments for around four days, with gentle pumping over to extract the tannins and structure in the best possible way. Once fermentation is complete, the wine is matured in American oak barrels made by French coopers - the result is a balanced style with a gentle woody character and plenty of fruit.This Pinotage goes particularly well with roast beef, braised dishes such as oxtail or - for a change of pace - grilled fish such as galjoen, a South African classic. It also cuts a fine figure with strongly seasoned vegetables or mushroom dishes. Best served at 16-18°C, slightly chilled or room temperature.

Bellevue Reserve Pinotage 2021

With the Bellevue Reserve Pinotage, the renowned Bellevue winery from Stellenbosch presents its most intense and concentrated interpretation of South Africa's national grape variety. The wine comes from selected parcels of older Pinotage vineyards and embodies all the depth, power and elegance that Pinotage has to offer.This Pinotage is dense, powerful and at the same time polished - a real powerhouse with elegance. The nose is dominated by aromas of violets, cedar wood and dark berries. Sweet and tart raspberries, maraschino cherries and a fine umami note unfold on the palate, underpinned by fine-grained tannins and a clear, long-lasting structure.Only the best grapes are used for this reserve wine, mainly from a bush vineyard planted in 1996 on weathered granite and slate soil. After a four-day cold maceration, fermentation was temperature-controlled, with daily pump-overs for optimum extraction. The wine underwent spontaneous malolactic fermentation in barriques and matured for 22 months in French oak barrels - half new, half second-use.This expressive red wine calls for matured beef, a hearty game dish or - for the brave - one of the finest matured cheeses with character.
