Blaauwklippen, dessen Weinbau-Geschichte bis ins späte 17. Jahrhundert zurückreicht, versteht es meisterhaft, die Vorzüge von Zinfandel in den Lagen in Stellenbosch voll zur Entfaltung zu bringen.Am Gaumen ist der Blaauwklippen Zinfandel 2018 trocken, kraftvoll und herzhaft. The result is an elegant and complex red wine that carries the essence of the Mediterranean climate.The cuvée is made from Syrah, Grenache Noir, Carignan and Mourvèdre - grape varieties known for their powerful fruit and spicy notes. The vineyards benefit from hot days and cool nights, allowing the grapes to ripen optimally while retaining their freshness. After careful manual harvesting, temperature-controlled fermentation takes place in order to extract the intense fruit aromas in the best possible way. Part of the wine is matured in French oak barrels, which gives it additional depth and a fine, elegant structure.In the glass, the Blason d'Aussières Corbières is a deep ruby red with violet reflections. This Crianza comes from the Bierzo region and is made from 100% Mencia grapes, an autochthonous grape variety from northwestern Spain. In recent years, more and more wonderfully elegant wines have been produced in this emerging region, one of which is the Armas de Guerra Mencia Crianza. The grapes for this wine come from bush vines that are between 65 and 85 years old and grow mainly on clay and slate soils. The vineyards are situated about 450 to 600 metres above sea level. Harvesting is done by hand. The wine was aged in stainless steel tanks and concrete barrels for almost 50 days before it matured for another 12 months in French oak casks.The Armas de Guerra Mencia Crianza is a deep cherry-red in the glass with light glints on the rim. The wine is redolent of ripe red and black fruit, along with noticeable mineral aromas and fine wooden notes. It is sumptuous, fresh and fleshy on the palate, with silky, supple tannins. The finish is characterised by notes of peppermint, once again underlining the wine’s special aromas.The Armas de Guerra Mencia Crianza is currently at the peak of its maturity but can also be enjoyed over the next three to four years. It is an ideal accompaniment to hearty meat dishes.

In der Anbauregion Toro (im Herzen Spaniens in der Region Kastilien-León) bringt die Tinta de Toro unverwechselbare Qualitäten hervor. Der Bodegas Los Llanos Pata Negra Toro zeigt das eindrucksvoll.Dieser spanische Rotwein duftet intensiv nach Brombeeren.
