The grape composition for the red wine Le Volte dell Ornellaia Rosso Toscana IGT comes from the slopes of the Tenuta dell' Ornellaia vineyard in Tuscany. The full-bodied red wine is made from the Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot grape varieties and impresses at first glance with its deep, dark purple-red color.

After careful decanting, the bouquet opens up with finely spiced nuances of mulberries, cherries and cocoa beans. This aromatic composition is underpinned by the delicate spice of Mediterranean herbs and an exceptionally fine acidity. Finally, the fruity composition on the palate is surprising, giving the red wine a wonderfully soft and silky finish.

As Le Volte Rosso is a good storage wine, it will accompany you for a long time with dishes such as game, dark meat or strong poultry. The recommended drinking temperature is between 16 and 18 °C.

Das Weingut „Tenuta dell'Ornellaia wurde 1981 von Marchese Lodovico Antinori gegründet – mit Unterstützung des legendären Önologen André Tchelistcheff. In der Weinwelt hatte das Gut aus der Provinz Livorno in der Nähe des malerischen kleinen Ortes Bolgheri in der Toskana schnell einen herausragenden Ruf.

Die Weinberge von Tenuta Dell'Ornellaia umfassen insgesamt eine Rebfläche von 62 Hektar. Die Böden im Anbaugebiet sind steinig und kalkhaltig. Die Ursache liegt in der Nähe zur ligurischen Küste. Diese Bedingungen bringen einen signifikant kräftigen Wein hervor, der vorwiegend aus den Rebsorten Merlot, Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon aber auch Petit Verdot und Cabernet Franc gewonnen wird.

Im Jahre 2002 wurde Tenuta Dell'Ornellaia wegen der hohen Qualität seiner Produkte und des großen Erfolgs zu jeweils 50 Prozent von den Wein-Konzernen Mondavi aus Kalifornien und Frescobaldi aus Italien übernommen. Seit 2005 gehört das Weingut Tenuta Dell'Ornellaia komplett zu Frescobaldi.
