The Manz Faszination Cuvée M is an exceptional blend in many ways. The very composition of this cuvée from Rheinhessen is a rarity. In addition to Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon, the Cabernet Dorsa grape variety is the third component of this blend. This red wine variety, bred in Germany, was created by crossing Blaufränkisch and Dornfelder and is not yet widely cultivated. The bouquet of Manz Faszination Cuvée M is fascinatingly multifaceted. The aroma of blackberries, black currants, and blueberries is underscored by nuances of sour cherry. And that’s not all. The little feast for the senses is just beginning. Notes of mint, eucalyptus, a hint of green bell pepper, and pepper also enrich the bouquet. And finally, thanks to the long aging in barrique, notes of toasted wood and cigar box. The delicate minerality is the crowning touch. On the palate, this deep purple wine is dry, densely aromatic, and powerful. Fruity aromas of blackcurrants and blueberries take center stage, in a wonderful interplay with wood and chocolate notes. Prominent, ripe, and masterfully integrated tannins, a smooth mouthfeel, and a long, spicy finish leave little to be desired. In the finish, a delicate minerality returns, thanks to the limestone- and marl-dominated soils.Congratulations if you have the opportunity to discover this exceptional cuvée. Enjoy the Manz Faszination Cuvée M at a serving temperature of 16 to 18 degrees. This Rheinhessen red wine is a wonderful accompaniment to goose breast with apple-red cabbage and potato dumplings.
