The Coco Chocolate Merlot has clear notes of dark chocolate. This is achieved through heavily roasted French oak wood. It makes the red wine something very special. The Coco Chocolate Merlot has a beautiful color, the nose shows cherry fruit with aromas of mocha/dark chocolate. The wine contains a lot of tannins, but it is soft and very accessible, finely integrated. On the palate, it is mouth-filling and surprisingly complex for such a young wine.

Mooiplaas Wine Estate

Mooiplaas Wine Estate and Private Nature Reserve, wie das Unternehmen vollständig heißt, liegt wunderschön zwischen den majestätischen, fruchtbaren Bergen und zwei Ozeanen in der berühmten Weinregion Stellenbosch. Das gesamte Anwesen umfasst 250 Hektar, davon sind etwa 100 Hektar Weinberge und 60 Hektar Naturschutzgebiet. Das Weingut ist seit Jahren im Besitz der Familie Roos. Auch weil das Naturschutzgebiet direkt an den Weinbergen liegt, ist ein umweltfreundlicher und nachhaltiger Weinbau unerlässlich. In den Weinbergen werden keine Pestizide eingesetzt. Eines der wichtigsten Merkmale ist der große Höhenunterschied auf dem Gelände. Dadurch entstehen auf den 100 Hektar Weinbergen vielfältige Mikroklimata.

Mooiplaas The Bean Coffee Pinotage gets its characteristic coffee/mocha aroma from roasted French oak.Ripe black fruits are also clearly recognizable. The Bean has a deep purple color, the nose shows aromas of dark mocha and roasted coffee beans. The wine has plenty of tannin, but these tannins are fine and silky and well integrated. The palate is mouth-filling and surprisingly complex for such a young wine. Once tasted, this is a wine you won't soon forget.The Bean Coffee Pinotage goes very well with slightly spicy dishes or with grilled or roasted rump steak of beef and game.

Holden Manz Vernissage

The Holden Manz Vernissage is a cuvée consisting of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Merlot. The Cabernet Sauvignon grape variety gives the wine a lovely structure and particularly elegant tannins. Shiraz and Merlot provide notes of spices and fruit aromas, which are mainly characterised by nuances of dark cherries and plums. The wine is a light ruby-red, developing into a clear red towards the rim in the glass. The Holden Manz Vernissage has a balanced acidity and shows vivid aromas of cassis, tobacco and spice, giving the wine a very good balance. Its finish is soft and long-lasting. Winemaker Thierry Haberer selected the grapes from various vineyards with different types of soil. The grapes were harvested when fully ripe, thus giving the wine a wonderful complexity. After the careful blending of the single batches and grape varieties and the numerous tastings involved, Thierry finally created this expressive, balanced and very fruity Holden Manz Vernissage. The wine matured for 18 months in 225-litre French oak casks. Enjoy the wine with lamb stews with garlic sauce or grilled polenta.

Barista Pinotage

A South African taste experience of intense, rich coffee and chocolate aromas with nuances of ripe mulberries, plums and cherries.This dry red wine is also the perfect accompaniment to food. It pairs very well with dark meat, creamy casseroles and even intense desserts. Also a great accompaniment to blue cheese or Belgian chocolate. Vinified ready to drink from the start for immediate enjoyment. We recommend 18 °C as the ideal drinking temperature.The Barista Pinotage from the Val De Vie vineyard is made from 100% Pinotage grapes from the Robertson region. The grapes were picked at optimum ripeness in mid-February and divided into different batches and treated in different ways.Certain batches were treated by short heating to optimize color and then returned to the skins for alcoholic fermentation. Other batches were pasteurized and immediately fermented on oak to achieve the dark, rich coffee flavors. Still other batches were fermented conventionally on the skins and pumped over several times during alcoholic fermentation and racked into French oak to complete fermentation. All batches were stabilized by malolactic fermentation in French oak.
