This South African Cabernet Sauvignon is a wonderful entry to the world of wines from Diemersfontein. The Sonnenberg family winery is known primarily for its Pinotage creations, but also showcases its remarkable expertise in winemaking with this Cabernet Sauvignon.

This red wine from the Wellington region offers aromas of black currants, sweet plums and cloves, complemented by wonderfully harmonious notes of dried herbs and vanillas as well as nuances of nuts and tar. On the palate, this South African red is elegant and magnificently aromatic, with fragrances of cherries and blueberries predominating. The Diemersfontein Cabernet Sauvignon has an excellent structure with noticeable tannins.

It was aged for twelve months in second-fill oak barrels. The Cabernet from Diemersfontein is ready to drink now, but will continue its development in the coming years. With its aromas of ripe fruit, the presence of the structured tannins and lovely herbal notes, this South African red wine is an ideal accompaniment to hearty dishes. Diemersfontein Wine

Nur 45 Autominuten von Kapstadt entfernt liegt Diemersfontein in unmittelbarer Nähe der berühmten Weinstraße am Kap. Bekannt ist Diemersfontein vor allem für seinen herausragenden Pinotage.

Seit den frühen 1940er Jahren ist Diemersfontein im Besitz der Familie Sonnenberg. Max Sonnenberg kaufte die 183 Hektar große Farm, die im Schatten der majestätischen Hawekwa Mountains liegt und mit einem Panoramablick auf die beiden Berge Du Toit Kloof und Bains Kloof ihre Besucher begeistert. Im Mittelpunkt des Weingutes liegen malerische Gärten, die von Cecilia Sonnenberg entworfen wurden. Unzählige Rosen und Azaleen bieten mit ihrer Blütenpracht den Rahmen für festliche Anlässe.

Die ersten Weinberge wurden in den 1970er-Jahren gepflanzt und im Jahr 2000 baute David Sonennberg seinen eigenen Keller und begann mit der Produktion preisgekrönter Gutsweine. Die Rebflächen sind mit Shiraz, Pinotage, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot ausgelegt, aber auch die „weniger bekannten“ Rebsorten Viognier, Barbera, Roobernet und Mouvedre werden hier erfolgreich angebaut. Bekannt wurde Diemersfontein vor allem für seinen herausragenden Pinotage.

The Protea Cabernet Sauvignon from Anthonij Rupert Wines is an excellent example of South African wine quality at a fair price. The grapes come from the Groenekloof region in the Darling wine-growing area. Here the days are warm and the nights cool, so there is a big difference in temperature. This fact and the deep red soil with decomposed granite give the wine a unique blend of dark and red fruit aromas. Thokozani is an independent company in which the employees, who are also the shareholders, create their own capital.
