The 100% Lagrein from the Alto Adige winery Cantina Terlan has a strong ruby to garnet color with violet hues. On the nose, earthy and mineral notes that harmonize beautifully with fruity flavors. In addition notes of sour cherries and plum jam. On the palate: peaty and spicy yet fruity. Notes of bitter chocolate and violet contribute to the complex richness and complexity of the wine. The Gries Lagrein Riserva DOC comes from a classic Lagrein location in Bolzano. The wine was aged for 12 months partly in large oak barrels (70%) and partly in barriques (30%). For the maturation in the oak barrels one third new barrels were used. Enjoy the wine with red meat in spicy sauce or braised veal cheeks with root vegetables.

The Terlan Lagrein DOC impresses with its velvety taste. Lagrein is a leading grape variety in South Tyrol and is currently being rediscovered by wine lovers.The Terlan Lagrein DOC is velvety, elegant and full-bodied. Its dark garnet red color shimmers mysteriously in the glass, the bouquet flatters the sense of smell with clear fruity aromas of cranberry and sour cherry. This is accompanied by fine nuances of lilac and laurel, flint notes and a hint of chocolate. The Lagrein is full-bodied and harmonious on the palate, with a fine texture and delicate tannins.The Lagrein from the Terlan winegrowers' cooperative was allowed to mature in large wooden barrels for seven to ten months.Serve this dry red wine from Italy at a comfortable drinking temperature of 14 to 16 °C. With its strong aromas, it goes well with hearty, traditional dishes such as braised leg of venison or lamb shank or beef roulades with mashed potatoes. The Lagrein is also excellent with mature Parmesan cheese.

Der Tiefenbrunner Linticlarus Lagrein Riserva ist ein charakteristischer Rotwein Südtirols, der höchsten Ansprüchen spielerisch genügt. Die internationale Weinkritik verleiht dieser Tiefenbrunner-Kreation konstant deutlich mehr als 90 Punkte. Der dunkel rubinrote Lagrein vereint in seinem Bukett intensive Noten von Waldfrüchten und Kirschen. US-Weinkritiker James Suckling schreibt von „Brombeeren, schwarzer Schokolade, schwarzem Lakritz und schwarzem Kaffee“. Er vergibt 94 Punkte.Am Gaumen ist der Tiefenbrunner Linticlarus Lagrein Riserva vollmundig, mit feinkörnig reifen Tanninen und einem anregenden Säurespiel. Der Abgang ist herrlich würzig und klingt noch eindrucksvoll lange nach.

Tiefenbrunner Turmhof Lagrein Alto Adige DOC 2022

Noten von Veilchen, Kirschen und auch Schokolade prägen das Bukett des Tiefenbrunner Turmhof Lagrein. Der Rotwein aus Südtirol ist am Gaumen voll und rund. Die feinkörnigen Gerbstoffe und die belebende Säure harmonieren wunderbar. Die autochthone Rebsorte Südtirols entfaltet hier ihre Qualitäten und verführt mit ihrer samtigen Fülle und der feinen Säure.Im Glas schimmert der reinsortige Lagrein in einem kräftigen Granatrot mit violetten Reflexen. Die Trauben für diesen Rotwein stammen von Hanglagen in Entiklar und Kurtatsch. Die Rebstöcke wurden zum Teil bereits 1967 angepflanzt. Acht Monate reifte der Lagrein im großen und kleinen Holzfass.

Tignanello Toscana IGT 2021

Diesen „Super-Toskaner“ braucht man eigentlich nicht mehr vorstellen. Italienische Eleganz, gepaart mit viel Finesse und feinster, vielschichtiger Aromatik bei balancierter Säure stehen auch beim 2021er Tignanello im Vordergrund, der 2021 fünfzig Jahre alt geworden ist. Nie auf der feisten und fetten Seite, nie erschlagend, und doch von majestätischer Figur, immer ausgewogen und höchst vielschichtig. Die Cuvée besteht aus 80 % Sangiovese, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon und 5% Cabernet Franc. An der Nase viel dunkle Früchte, Zeder, Kräuter, Orange, Gewürze, süsser Pfeiffentabak und Pfeffer. Dies setzt sich am Gaumen fort, mit zusätzlichen Noten von Grapefruit, Himbeere, einem Korb voll dunkler und heller Kirschen, etwas Nelken und viel cremigen, sanften Tanninen. Im Hintergrund spinnt eine feine Säure ihre Fäden und hält die Komposition zusammen. Der Nachhall ist extrem lang und nicht enden wollend. Der 2021er Tignanello bleibt dabei immer eine vollendet harmonische Hymne, ohne jegliche dissonante Noten. Wieviel Hingabe und Perfektion diesem Wein zu Teil kommt, wird auch dadurch deutlich, dass er 17 Monate im Fass reift. Davon verbringt er 3 Monate während der malolaktischen Gärung in neutralem Holz und liegt anschließend noch 14 Monate zu 50% in Neufässern. Es ist kein Wunder, dass auch in diesem Jahr das Flagschiff der Marchesi Antinori nahezu einhellig den Highscore der Kritiker abräumt (zu den Bewertungen siehe unten). Wer den Wein bereits heute gerne trinken möchte, sollte ihn mindestens für zwei Stunden vor dem Genuss dekantieren. Ansonsten dürfte er, die Geduld des Besitzers vorausgesetzt, noch mehrere Dekaden Trinkfreude bereiten. Parker: 98/100; Galloni 98/100.

This ruby-red wine from Italy has been produced on the basis of Appassimento (a special drying process of the grapes).
