Das Weingut Tommasi Viticoltori wurde 1902 gegründet und hat sich als Unternehmen über die Jahrzehnte enorm entwickelt. Mittlerweile wird das Weingut in der vierten Generation der Familie Tommasi geleitet. Der einstige Familienbetrieb ist allerdings heute ein großes Unternehmen, und besitzt heute Weingüter in den Regionen von Italien, die besonders für Weinbau geeignet sind: im Valpolicella Classico Gebiet, den DOC Bereichen von Verona, dem Proseccogebiet in Treviso, der Region Oltrepò Pavese und in der Lombardei, Montalcino und Maremma in der Toskana sowie Manduria in Apulien.

Das ursprüngliche Weingut Tommasi Viticoltori liegt in Pedemonte, einem kleinen Dorf im Herzen des "Valpolicella Classico" Region, im nordwestlichen Teil von Verona.

Von Großvater Giacomo Tommasi's winzigen Weinberg ist das Gut stetig im Laufe der Jahre gewachsen und heute erstreckt es sich über 195 Hektar Weinberge. Die Familie besitzt Weinberge auf den renommiertesten Hügeln: La Groletta, Conca d'Oro und Ca'Florian. Hier gedeihen die Trauben prächtig für die unvergleichlichen Amarone Classico, Ripasso, Valpolicella Classico Superiore und Recioto della Valpolicella Weine.

Der Tommasi Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG ist eine Cuvée aus vier Valpolicella-Rebsorten. So ist er aus Corvina Veronese, Rondinella, Corvinone und Molinara gekeltert. Für diesen Amarone verwendet das Weingut Tommasi Viticoltori ausschließlich die am besten ausgereiften Cluster und lässt die Trauben über den Winter in offenen Regalen trocknen. Danach reift der Wein drei Jahre in Eichenfässern und ein Jahr in der Flasche.Dadurch leuchtet dieser Wein im Glas in einem tiefen Rubinrot und hat ein intensives Bouquet sowie einen vollmundigen Geschmack. Er duftet nach Schwarzbeeren, Kaffee, Tabak und einem Hauch Vanille und Bitterschokolade. Am Gaumen entfalten sich weitere fruchtige Noten von Kirsche und Pflaume mit harmonisch eingebundenen Tanninen und einem anhaltenden Nachklang.Dieser komplexe und raffinierte Rotwein aus dem Veneto passt bei 18 bis 20 °C Trinktemperatur hervorragend zu würzigen Speisen. So harmoniert er mit Wildgerichten, rotem Fleisch sowie reifen Käsesorten.

The Tommasi Ripasso Valpolicella Classico Superiore DOC owes its special character to a process that is only used for rare vintages.The second fermentation of the Classico Superiore takes place on warm grape skins that were pressed for the Tommasi Amarone. The wine shimmers an intense ruby red and smells of spicy peppery notes with a hint of raisins. Connoisseurs appreciate the intense taste with a full body. The palate reveals aromas of sweet cherry.This red wine, which is made from the Corvina Veronese, Rondinella and Corvinone grape varieties, is best enjoyed at a temperature of 17 to 18 °C. It is recommended as an accompaniment to game, white and red meat and cheese.

Biscardo Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG

This top wine from Veneto has an intense, garnet red color. The grape varieties Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara, which are characteristic of the region, give the wine its unique taste. Intense and persistent cherry aromas on the nose. On the palate, it is velvety, slightly bitter and reminiscent of cherry and bitter almonds. Incidentally, the Italian "amaro" means bitter. The grapes ripen on the hills of the small villages around Verona at an altitude of 150 to 400 meters above sea level. They are harvested by hand, usually at dawn or in the evening. This prevents the harvested grapes from being exposed to excessive heat and losing freshness.The quality of the grape skin is particularly important for Amarone, as it determines the tannins, color and flavor intensity. Incidentally, legend has it that a cellar worker in the 1930s actually wanted to create Recioto, but forgot the wine in the barrels.
