Dickens Tale of Three Wines 2018

Lionel Dickens als Winemaker steht hinter diesem Projekt. Als südafrikanisches Kind der Weinbranche hatte er schon immer eine Leidenschaft für Natur und Landschaft seines Landes. Nachdem er viele Jahre in verschiedenen Bereichen der Weinindustrie gearbeitet hat, hat Lionel Dickens damit begonnen, im Weinkeller ein neues Kapitel zu schreiben. Seine Weine sind von der klassischen Tradition inspiriert – mit minimalem Eingriff hergestellt, um Ausgewogenheit, Eleganz und vor allem eine interessante Herkunftsgeschichte widerzuspiegeln.Für uns sind die Weine von Dickens „die“ Entdeckung des Jahres 2023 aus Südafrika.Der Dickens Tale of Three Wines besteht zu 98% aus Shiraz und zu jeweils 1% aus Mouverdre und Viognier. Die Trauben stammen zu 99% aus der südafrikanischen Region Franschhoek. Diese mehrdimensionale und komplexe rote Mischung zeigt vielschichtige Aromen von roten Beerenfrüchten, Veilchen und Gewürzen. Am Gaumen verbinden sich die Aromen von Beeren und Veilchen mit weichen, kalkhaltigen Tanninen zu einem konzentrierten und vollmundigen Wein. Der Wein reifte 18 Monate in französischen Eichenfässern.Der Dickens Tale of Three Wines kann sowohl pur als auch als Essensbegleiter genossen werden. Probieren Sie diesen Rotwein zum Beispiel zu gegrilltem rotem Fleisch und Wildgerichten.

The Diemersfontein Thokozani Shiraz Mouvedre Viognier is a joint project of many employees of the Diemersfontein winery. The red wine is vinified under the leadership of the Diemersfontein wine team. Thokozani is an independent company in which the employees, who are also the shareholders, create their own capital. The wine is redolent of mocha, dark chocolate and tobacco, complemented by hints of liquorice. On the palate, the wine shows sweet aromas of black fruit, along with nuances of spices. The Shiraz Mouvedre Viognier from Thokozani is savoury, with fine, silky tannins. Its finish is accompanied by notes of butterscotch and smoked bacon.Try this intense red wine with steaks with chili sauce or wild boar with a creamy mushroom sauce.

Eikendal Charisma 2022

The Eikendal Charisma is an expressive red wine cuvée from the renowned South African wine-growing region of Stellenbosch that lives up to its name. The skillful blend of Shiraz, Petit Verdot and Sangiovese combines the best of three great wine regions - Rhône, Bordeaux and Tuscany - to create a seductive wine with a strong character.In the glass, Charisma is deep red with violet reflections. The nose reveals a complex interplay of aromas of dark berries, spicy notes and a hint of Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, the wine is powerful yet elegant, with dense fruit, fine tannins and well-integrated acidity. The wine owes its structure to Shiraz, its depth and intensity to Petit Verdot and its lively freshness to Sangiovese - a composition with personality.The grapes come from optimally oriented sites in Stellenbosch, planted on well-drained soils and strictly reduced yields to ensure the highest quality. Vinification was carried out traditionally: partial whole cluster fermentation, spontaneous fermentation followed by the addition of pure yeast and 15 months maturation in French oak barrels. The result is a harmonious wine with depth, complexity and ageing potential.The Eikendal Charisma is an ideal accompaniment to hearty dishes such as risotto with mushrooms and chorizo, veal dishes or on special occasions with dark chocolate and truffle pralines. For perfect enjoyment, a serving temperature of 18-20 °C is recommended.
