Eikendal Nadine Shiraz Grenache

The Eikendal Nadine Red is a harmonious cuvée of 85% Shiraz and 15% Grenache, which delights with juicy fruit, subtle spice and soft tannins. Shimmering in a deep ruby red, this medium-bodied red wine reveals an intense bouquet of licorice, blackberry and sour cherry. Multi-layered fruit notes unfold on the palate with a grippy structure and a spicy finish.

The grapes come from optimally located plots in South Africa's Western Cape, where the climate and soils offer ideal conditions for this cuvée inspired by the South of France. Careful hand-picking, prolonged cold maceration and gentle ageing in French oak barrels - including large 4,500-liter wooden barrels - ensure balance, aromatic depth and remarkable accessibility.

After 9 months in wood and a further 3 months in stainless steel tanks, the Eikendal Nadine Red is ready to drink, but also has the potential to mature for a further 5 years. Its elegant structure and moderate acidity make it a versatile food companion.

Eikendal Rosé
With its delicate onion skin pink and beguiling aromas of fresh strawberries, raspberries and rose petals, Eikendal Rosé is a prime example of finely balanced, South African rosé enjoyment. The harmonious cuvée of Grenache, Mourvèdre and Cinsaut comes from specially selected plots in the Stellenbosch growing region - with ideal conditions for fresh, expressive rosés.Floral and fruity notes on the nose, the wine has a full-bodied structure, animating freshness and subtly integrated acidity on the palate. The long, juicy finish whets the appetite for the next sip.The vines grow on weathered granite soil close to the sea and benefit from the cooling breeze of False Bay. The grapes were harvested by hand early in the morning, some were gently pressed, but the majority were gently processed using the whole bunch pressing method - for maximum freshness and elegant fruit. Eikendal Cabernet Merlot
The Eikendal Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot is a powerful red wine cuvée in the classic Bordeaux style - full of character, full-bodied and typical of the renowned Stellenbosch wine region. The nose is dominated by ripe aromas of blackberries and blackcurrants, complemented by notes of cassis and a subtle earthiness, which are particularly typical of Cabernet Sauvignon. On the palate, the wine impresses with concentrated, fleshy fruit, fine-meshed tannins and a perfect balance of fruity richness and spicy, sweetish toasted aromas of French oak.The grapes come from high-altitude vineyards on mineral-rich "Koffieklip" soil with a clay subsoil - ideal conditions for complex, long-lasting wines. The vines, planted in 2004, are trained using the vertical shoot position system with sparse irrigation in order to achieve particularly concentrated berries. The grapes are harvested exclusively by hand into small crates, followed by cold maceration, spontaneous fermentation and gentle pressing. The wine matures for 12 months in 300-liter French oak barrels (15% of which are new) before being bottled unfiltered.This elegant cuvée harmonizes perfectly with beef carpaccio, braised beef rib or a creamy curry dish. With the Eikendal Classique, the renowned wine estate from Stellenbosch presents a masterful Bordeaux-style cuvée. The combination of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot produces a complex yet supple red wine of great elegance.The nose is dominated by aromas of blue and black berries, accompanied by earthy notes, fine spice and delicate oak. For this Sauvignon Blanc, the winery works with selected plots in the cool Elgin Valley, around 350 meters above sea level. The climatic conditions there - cool nights, temperate days and fertile soils - are ideal for growing Sauvignon Blanc.The grapes for this Eikendal Sauvignon Blanc come from a precisely defined block and are cultivated sustainably without irrigation. Two different clones ensure a balanced interplay of aromas between fruity richness and delicate, vegetal notes such as asparagus and fig. Targeted foliage work produces a complex, multi-layered wine with depth and freshness.After manual harvesting, processing takes place at low temperatures to preserve the fruit and aromas. The must had four hours of skin contact before being fermented in a combination of stainless steel tanks, concrete vats and plastic tanks. The wine was regularly stirred (bâtonnage) for two months, giving it fullness and structure.The Eikendal Sauvignon Blanc tastes great with fresh goat's cheese, oysters, artichokes or gnocchi with basil pesto.

Raka Spliced
The Raka Spliced is the perfect everyday wine that impresses with its fruity and balanced structure. The cuvée of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Mourvèdre, Petit Verdot, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Viognier comes from the Klein River Valley wine-growing region in South Africa.The bouquet is characterized by intense berry notes such as cherries, mulberries and blackberries, complemented by a fine olive note. On the palate, the wine has juicy plum fruit, lively cranberry acidity and subtle smoky oak flavors that lend it depth and complexity.The grapes were harvested by hand and carefully sorted in the vineyard and in the cellar. After a second berry selection, the must was fermented with pure yeasts. During the five-day maceration, the juice was pumped over the skins several times a day and punched down by hand to extract the color, tannins and aromas in the best possible way. After fermentation, the wine was separated from the yeasts, underwent malolactic fermentation and then matured for 12 to 14 months in a combination of 225-liter French oak barriques, 25% of which were new barrels.This versatile wine is an excellent accompaniment to grilled vegetables, pasta with tomato sauce, grilled poultry or spicy cheese variations.
