Eikehof Cape Ruby Grandpa's 1942 Ford

The Eikehof Cape Ruby from the established Eikehof wine estate in Franschhoek is a full-bodied Cape Ruby with a strong character, made in the traditional "port style". After fermentation, the wine was fortified to 18% alcohol, retaining some of its natural residual sugar and retaining its harmonious sweetness.

In the glass, it has a deep, dark ruby red hue, while rich aromas of red and black berries, fine oak and subtle spice blend together on the palate. The well-balanced structure and velvety texture make this Cape Ruby a special treat, which comes into its own as a digestif or with desserts.

Enjoy the Eikehof Cape Ruby slightly chilled at 14-16 °C with chocolate desserts, mature cheese, nuts or simply as an elegant end to an enjoyable evening.

Boplaas Cape Ruby
The Boplaas Cape Ruby is produced in the traditional port wine style from hand-picked Touriga Nacional and Tinta Barocca grapes. The grapes are fermented in small lagares, fortified with the finest grape brandy at the optimum time and then matured for at least 12 months in large, mature oak barrels before the wine is bottled lightly filtered. In the glass, it shines bright red-violet with a crimson rim. The nose and palate reveal aromas of ripe plums, black hedgerow fruit, cherry, apricot and fine spices, complemented by soft tannins and subtle wood notes. A fruity, accessible port wine with a harmonious balance that combines versatility and enjoyment.Enjoy the Boplaas Cape Ruby slightly chilled at 14-16 °C with mature cheese, charcuterie, game dishes, lamb, dark chocolate or as an aperitif, digestif and even "on the rocks".
