Der Drostdy-Hof Shiraz Merlot ist ein geschmeidiger und fruchtiger Wein. Im Glas ein leicht schimmerndes Dunkelrot und in der Nase leichte Zimt und sonstige Gewürznoten. Am Gaumen ist der Wein weich und ausgeglichen mit reifen Tanninen. Die Zunge umschmeicheln Aromen von Süßkirschen, Erdbeeren und Schwarzen Johannisbeeren.

The Delheim Merlot grapes come from vines up to 20 years old from a vineyard called Peperboom Vineyard. The Peperboom, which means pepper tree or pepper bush, was originally planted here. The grapes were harvested in two stages in order to achieve the maximum concentration of tannins and color. Fermentation was carried out in stainless steel tanks using selected yeast strains. The temperature during the fermentation process was between 25 and 28 degrees Celsius. The juice was then stored on the skins for a further 18 days and then matured for 12 months in French oak barrels.Notes of tobacco, red fruits with cloves and cinnamon are clearly recognizable on the nose. The Delheim Merlot is an elegant wine with a subtle structure and silky tannins. Full-bodied on the palate with an unusual freshness reminiscent of blueberry and plum flavors.Ageing in the bottle for 3 to 4 years allows the wine to reach optimum maturity. Certainly a delight with roast chicken or mushroom soup.

The grapes for the Anthonij Rupert Protea Shiraz come from vineyards in the Darling region. A region in South Africa with predominantly sandy, clay and loamy soils. The Loam Cabernet Merlot Riserva consists of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc. This is a cuvée that could have been produced in the Bordeaux region. The method of ageing is also similar to that used in Bordeaux. After a meticulous harvest by hand, the grapes are fermented in large wooden casks at a temperature of 82.4 °F, leading to an intense aroma and colour, amongst other things. The ageing was carried out in small barriques for a period of 12 months. Subsequently, the wine matured for six months in large wooden casks. It was put on the market only after ageing another six months in the bottle. The special quality of the grapes, the interaction of the different grape varieties and the careful production guarantee the longevity of the Loam. This wine will be extraordinary even in ten years. The Cantina Tramin Loam Cabernet-Merlot Riserva is fruity and well-balanced. The intense but fine tannins are wonderfully integrated, giving the wine power, balance and an enormous depth.The Loam is a ruby red in colour. On the nose, it offers fruity, slightly astringent aromas of wild cherries, chocolate and various berries, complemented by notes of wild herbs. Each sip caresses the palate with aromas of red berries, dried fruit and subtle hints of cedar. The tannins underpin the finish with a blend of mineral and salty nuances.Enjoy the Cantina Tramin Loam with roasts with dark sauces, game or hearty grilled meat. It also goes beautifully with various blue cheeses.
