Chamonix Troika 2018

Ein Spitzenwein aus Franschhoek: Der Chamonix Troika ist ein Blend aus 49% Cabernet Franc, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot und 13% Petit Verdot. Der rubinrote, trockene Wein duftet anregend nach Vanille, süßen, reifen Kirschen, Brombeeren und Gewürzen. Christine Rudman schreibt in John Platter’s Wine Guide von „Glänzenden Beeren, Gewürzen, Bleistift und Zigarrenkiste“. Sie vergibt stolze 93 Punkte (4,5 Sterne) für diesen herausragenden Rotwein aus Südafrika. Am Gaumen ist der Chamonix Troika gut strukturiert, voll und rund, mit einer angenehmen Geschmeidigkeit. Wieder ist die tolle Beerigkeit merklich. Feine Harmonie und aromatische Länge. „Kreiert für die Lagerung im Keller, aber die Tannine sind zugänglich“, urteilt Rudman. Dieser Wein hinterlässt schon in jungen Jahren Eindruck, wird aber seine Hochzeit in 10 bis 15 Jahren erreicht haben. Der „Bordeaux-Blend“ reifte für 18 Monate in französischen Eichenfässern, wobei zu 45% neue Fässer zum Einsatz kamen. Um die Komplexität des Weines zu erhöhen und die Vorzüge der einzelnen Rebsorten voll zur Entfaltung zu bringen, wurden die einzelnen Chargen erst kurz vor dem Abfüllen in die Flaschen assembliert. Château Batailley 2018

The Grand Vin from Château Batailley is one of the great classics from Pauillac in Bordeaux and impressively embodies the nobility and longevity of this traditional appellation. Year after year, the estate, which is one of the oldest in Pauillac, produces a red wine that masterfully combines finesse, structure and authenticity.Clearly dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon with 74%, 23% Merlot and 3% Petit Verdot, 60% of the 2018 Batailley was matured in new wooden barrels.It is an extremely elegant wine, with aromas of cassis, tobacco, graphite, dark berries, black chocolate and mint. Lots of structure on the palate, powerful bouquet, creamy, lots of fine tannins. The finish is long and fresh.Ready to drink from 2026, this wine should be given some time to fully blossom. It will then be able to delight connoisseurs with its multifaceted and deep aromas for almost 20 years.

Der Château Beaumont 2020 ist ein Cru Bourgeois aus dem Haut-Médoc, eine der berühmten Appellationen vom linken Ufer der Gironde in Bordeaux.Er verkörpert die klassischen Werte eines sehr hochwertigen Weins aus dem Bordelais, mit schöner, klarer Struktur, guten Tanninen, Frucht und einem hohen Alterungspotential. Das Jahr 2020 trug hierzu einiges bei, handelt es sich doch um einen der drei Ausnahmejahrgänge in der Serie von 2018-2020.Die Assemblage besteht aus Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot und Petit Verdot.Der Château Beaumont 2020 ist von tief violett-roter Farbe mit schönen Purpurreflexen. Das Bouquet überzeugt durch schöne Brombeernoten, Tabak, Unterholz, Schokolade und dunkler Frucht. Am Gaumen seidige Tannine, durchaus stoffiger und fülliger Körper, mit einem würziger Nachhall.Bereits jetzt nach etwas Dekantieren trinkbar, hat der Beaumont 2020 eine ausgezeichnete Lebenserwartung.James Suckling: 90-91/100; Neal Martin in Vinous: "This is a bloody great Beaumont" - 91-93/100.

Chateau Belgrave Haut Medoc Grand Cru Classe 2020

53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot machen ein klassisches linke-Ufer Cuvée aus, wobei der Cabernet Sauvignon dafür sorgen wird, dass der Wein durchaus etwas Kellerreifung vertragen kann. In jedem Falle sollte der Wein vor dem Genuss atmen können, je nach Geschmack sollte 1-2 Stunden vorher auch dekantiert werden.Der Château Belgrave zeigt ein sattes, dunkles Granat. Die Cabernet-Nase ist komplex und würzig-pfefferig, am Gaumen satte Frucht mit viel schwarzbeeriger Aromatik. Die Tannine sind wuchtig und klassisch Bordeaux-präsent, ohne aber zu überfordern. Eine sehr gute Struktur und ein langer Abgang imponieren und verdeutlichen, dass der Wein gut und gerne noch 20-30 Jahre auf dem Höhepunkt sein kann.Lamm, rotes Fleisch, Wild, Steak, Ente oder Hartkäse begleiten diesen Ausnahme-Haut-Médoc besonders gut. Oder warum nicht gleich solo genießen?

Château Branaire Ducru Saint-Julien Grand Cru AOC 2020

Der Château Branaire Ducru ist ein 4ème Cru aus der renommierten Appellation Saint-Julien, am linken Ufer der Gironde. Da 2019, zusammen mit 2018 und 2020, zu den Ausnahmejahrgängen im Bordelais zählt, darf der Weinliebhaber vom Château Branaire Ducru viel erwarten. Und er wird nicht enttäuscht!58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot und 3% Cabernet Franc bilden die Cuvée dieses Weines, der in diesem sonnenverwöhnten Jahrgang zu einem Höhenflug angesetzt hat, was seinen Charme und Appeal betrifft.Der Wein zeigt ein süßes, verführerisches Frucht-Bouquet, viel Pflaume, Kaffee, Pfeffer, schwarze Kirschen und Lakritz. Am Gaumen eine gute Frucht, seidige Tannine und eine sehr klassische Struktur. Der Abgang ist fein und lang.Der Branaire Ducru dürfte ab 202025 trinkreif sein. Wer ihn vorher probieren möchte, begeht zwar keine Sünde, sollte ihn aber vorher gehörig lange dekantieren.Wir empfehlen diesen außergewöhnlichen Saint Julien solo, aber auch zu Geschmortem, Geflügel, Wild oder Gegrilltem.

Château Cantemerle Grand Cru Haut-Médoc AOC 2019

Château Cantemerle greets wine travelers on the D2, the most famous wine route in the world, like a kind of gatekeeper to the Médoc peninsula. Arriving from Bordeaux, Château La Lagune on the right and Château Cantemerle on the left send you on a trip to the wonderland of Bordeaux. The estate has been classified as a Cinquieme Grand Cru Classé since the 1855 classification, making it one of the "caste" of the truly best and most prestigious wines of the Bordelais.2019 was the second year in a series of three outstanding years in Bordeaux. Unsurprisingly, the Cantemerle 2019 is a shining testament to this fact, and not just in terms of its beautiful, deep red sparkling robe. The blend consists of 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot and 7% Cabernet Franc.This Cantemerle matured for 12 months in French oak barrels, with 40% new barrels.Lots of blackberry, cassis, tobacco, freshly picked flowers, wood and wild mushrooms on the nose. The palate is not too full-bodied, with polished tannins and good structure. A rather softer representative of the left bank, but still a very classic Bordeaux. Château Castagnac Raphaël Merlot Sans Sulfites - Sulfitarm Bordeaux AOC 2019

Wir vom Vineshop24 sind immer auf der Suche nach etwas Spannenden und Neuem aus der wunderbaren Weinwelt. Dabei wurden wir aufmerksam auf diese Spezialität aus Fronsac im Bordelais, einem trockenen Wein "Sans Sulfites", also ohne zugesetztem Schwefel, mit einem niedlichen Jungen auf einem Traktor auf dem Label. Der kleine Lausbub ist Raphaël, die sechste Generation der Coudert Familie, der das Château Castagnac gehört und der so gerne im Weinberg - natürlich auf dem Schlepper - mithilft. Der Château Castagnac Raphaël Merlot wurde daher nach ihm benannt.Das Château Castagnac arbeitet derzeit daran, das Label HEV (high environmental value) zu erhalten, eine Auszeichnung für nachhaltigen französischen Weinbau. Bei der Herstellung wird zudem auf den Einsatz von Sulfiten verzichtet. Somit fällt bei diesem sulfitarmen Rotwein auch der Histaminwert gering aus.100% Merlot, aus im Schnitt 25 Jahre alten Reben, wird die Fermentation nur mit Hilfe natürlicher Hefen durchgeführt. Es erfolgt auch nur eine sehr vorsichtige Filterung vor der Abfüllung.Der Château Castagnac Merlot Raphaël ist genauso sympathisch wie der kleine Raphaël selbst. Fruchtig, viel Merlot-typische Pflaumenaromen, dunkle Beeren, Haselnuss und etwas Olive vereinen sich zu einem spannenden und äußerst runden Trinkvergnügen.James Suckling ist begeistert von diesem Wein aus Bordeaux und benotet den Château Castagnac Merlot Raphaël mit 91 Punkten.

Château Chante Alouette Grand Cru Saint-Émilion AOC 2018

Chante Alouette 2018 is a typical Bordeaux from the right bank of the Saint-Émilion appellation. The vineyards are located between such famous neighbors as Château Pavie and La Gaffeliére; the sand and clay soils, in addition to careful vinification, are responsible for producing particularly elegant and rich wines with a lot of charm.Château Chante Aloutte was taken over in 1995 by the Guy d'Arfeuille family, who combine the best of tradition and modernity while respecting and appreciating nature. The blend consists of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc. It is matured in barriques with 30% new wood for one year.The 2018 Chante Alouette has a deep garnet-purple color. Blueberries, sweet cherries, licorice, baked plums, tobacco and violets on the nose. The palate is wonderfully elegant, opening up a world of dark fruits with chocolate. Lots of velvet and well-integrated tannins with an intense finish complete a very rounded picture of the exceptional 2018 vintage.A wonderful solo wine, drinkable now until around 2038, which also cuts an excellent figure with game, braised meat, grilled lamb or hard cheese.

Château Charmail Haut-Médoc AOC 2018

Château Charmail is known for producing wines that very often score significantly higher than their price would suggest. Charmail, classified as a Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel, was taken over by Oliver Seze in the 1980s and underwent a "horse cure" of renewal until the wines once again reached the level of the terroir on which its vines grow. As a neighbor of Sociando-Mallet and Phélan-Ségur, the Gironde is not far away and the wine is now one of the best in the Haut-Médoc. Seze is still active as a consultant, but has handed over the vineyard to Bernard d'Halluin and his daughter Marie.2018 is the first year of the "dream trilogy" 2018, 2019 and 2020, which produced outstanding wines in the Bordelais. The cuvée consists of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc and 8% Petit Verdot.The appeal of this wine lies in its creaminess and fine fruit, with underlying sweet aromas. Blue and black berries, cassis, tobacco and chocolate delight the nose. Silky on the palate, with a medium-full body, toasty notes from the wood, which do not dominate, and polished tannins. The finish is long lasting.This elegant and balanced Haut-Médoc is already ready to drink, but only after about an hour of decanting. However, it should still have a span of at least 15 years ahead of it, provided it is stored properly, of course.The 2018 offers a great drinking experience at an excellent price-performance ratio. Château Charmail Haut-Médoc AOC 2019

Château Charmail, located in the north of the Médoc, is the neighbor of Sociando-Mallet and has an exceptionally good terroir close to the Gironde. Formerly dormant, this estate woke up a few decades ago and produces fresh and fruity wines that have propelled Château Charmail into the top league of the Left Bank. It is important to bear in mind that the prices for this grape juice are still more than moderate, making Charmail one of the absolute price-performance winners in the whole of Bordeaux. The 2019 vintage is also exceptionally successful and is considered part of the century trilogy (2018-2020).A wonderfully deep ruby red glows in the glass. On the nose, the typically delicate fruit of Château Charmail, with cassis, blackberries, redcurrants and a hint of elderberry. On the palate, the red and blueberry character intensifies, framed by tobacco, licorice, leather and a little graphite, as well as mint and cedar. Everything is very fresh and harmonious, with good structure and race and some residual sweetness, which balances wonderfully with the intense fruit. Although the tannins are present, they are not over-represented, but appear polished and polished. The finish is extremely long.Château Charmail 2019 is a winner in its price category and scores even higher. Château Chasse-Spleen 2020

Chasse-Spleen, aus der Appellation Moulis, ist seit den 1980er Jahren ein immer verlässlicher, charaktervoller Wein, der preislich nie über das Ziel hinausschießt. Vielleicht ist auch das einer der Gründe, warum der Chasse-Spleen so beliebt ist und eine treue Anhängerschaft in Deutschland sein eigen nennt.Der 2020er Chasse-Spleen ist ein wunderbar klassischer Vertreter Bordeauxs, der dem Kenner durch seine Tiefgründigkeit und Rotfruchtigkeit gefallen wird.Die Assemblage besteht aus 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40 Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot.Die Farbe ist ein funkelndes, tiefes Bordeaux-Rot. In der Nase Röstnoten, Vanille und etwas Kirsche. Nach etwas Belüftung treten herrliche Aromen roter Früchte hinzu. Am Gaumen eine schöne Stoffigkeit, der Merlot bringt die Fülle, der Cabernet Sauvignon ist für die Finesse und den seidigen Touch verantwortlich. Die vorhandenen Tannine bringen eine schöne Balance in die Gleichung mit ein. Der Abgang ist lang und intensiv.Die Trinkreife dürfte bis ca. 2030 andauern. Der Chasse-Spleen 2020 passt hervorragend zu Wild, Braten, Pasta oder gereiftem Käse.Neil Martin: 90-92/100 Punkte; René Gabriel: 16/20.
