Chasse-Spleen, aus der Appellation Moulis, ist seit den 1980er Jahren ein immer verlässlicher, charaktervoller Wein, der preislich nie über das Ziel hinausschießt. Vielleicht ist auch das einer der Gründe, warum der Chasse-Spleen so beliebt ist und eine treue Anhängerschaft in Deutschland sein eigen nennt.

Der 2020er Chasse-Spleen ist ein wunderbar klassischer Vertreter Bordeauxs, der dem Kenner durch seine Tiefgründigkeit und Rotfruchtigkeit gefallen wird.

Die Assemblage besteht aus 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40 Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot.

Die Farbe ist ein funkelndes, tiefes Bordeaux-Rot. In der Nase Röstnoten, Vanille und etwas Kirsche. Nach etwas Belüftung treten herrliche Aromen roter Früchte hinzu. Am Gaumen eine schöne Stoffigkeit, der Merlot bringt die Fülle, der Cabernet Sauvignon ist für die Finesse und den seidigen Touch verantwortlich. Die vorhandenen Tannine bringen eine schöne Balance in die Gleichung mit ein. Der Abgang ist lang und intensiv.

Die Trinkreife dürfte bis ca. 2030 andauern. Der Chasse-Spleen 2020 passt hervorragend zu Wild, Braten, Pasta oder gereiftem Käse.

Chasse-Spleen ist unzweifelhaft, neben Châuteau Poujeaux, der Star der Appellation Moulis. Auf 80 ha wird hier vorwiegend feinster Cabernet Sauvignon angebaut, etwa 20 % Merlot und etwas Petit Verdot und Sauvignon Blanc; die Reben sind zwischen 30 und 40 Jahre alt.

Der Name Chasse-Spleen bedeutet in etwa "die Sorgen loswerden" oder "die Sorgen vertreiben", wobei sich die Weingelehrten darüber streiten, ob der englische Dichter Lord Byron oder der Franzose Charles Baudelaire für die unfreiwillige Namensgebung verantwortlich sind.

Das Gut hatte eine wechselvolle Geschichte, aufgrund seines im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes herausragenden Terroirs auf dem höchsten Punkt der Kiessandkuppe des Weilers Le Grand-Poujeaux, gehörte es sogar schon zu Château Latour. Claire Villars hat seit dem Jahr 1992 die Leitung von Chasse-Spleen übernommen und versteht es meisterhaft, die Tradition des Bordelais und die Gegenwart zu vereinen. So unprätentiös wie Claire Villars selbst, die mehrere namhafte Güter in Bordeaux leitet, ist auch ihr Wein.

Chasse-Spleen ist inzwischen eine über Jahre hinweg verlässliche Konstante im Bordeaux-Universum geworden und besticht durch seine Frucht, ideale Einbindung der Tannine und bietet regelmäßig, obschon "nur" ein Cru Bourgeois, den Grand Crus die Stirn. Und dies zu einem Preis, der nur einen Bruchteil des Preises der klassifizierten Gewächse beträgt.

Wir vom Vineshop24 sind immer auf der Suche nach etwas Spannenden und Neuem aus der wunderbaren Weinwelt. Dabei wurden wir aufmerksam auf diese Spezialität aus Fronsac im Bordelais, einem trockenen Wein "Sans Sulfites", also ohne zugesetztem Schwefel, mit einem niedlichen Jungen auf einem Traktor auf dem Label. Der kleine Lausbub ist Raphaël, die sechste Generation der Coudert Familie, der das Château Castagnac gehört und der so gerne im Weinberg - natürlich auf dem Schlepper - mithilft. Der Château Castagnac Raphaël Merlot wurde daher nach ihm benannt.Das Château Castagnac arbeitet derzeit daran, das Label HEV (high environmental value) zu erhalten, eine Auszeichnung für nachhaltigen französischen Weinbau. Bei der Herstellung wird zudem auf den Einsatz von Sulfiten verzichtet. Somit fällt bei diesem sulfitarmen Rotwein auch der Histaminwert gering aus.100% Merlot, aus im Schnitt 25 Jahre alten Reben, wird die Fermentation nur mit Hilfe natürlicher Hefen durchgeführt. Es erfolgt auch nur eine sehr vorsichtige Filterung vor der Abfüllung.Der Château Castagnac Merlot Raphaël ist genauso sympathisch wie der kleine Raphaël selbst. Fruchtig, viel Merlot-typische Pflaumenaromen, dunkle Beeren, Haselnuss und etwas Olive vereinen sich zu einem spannenden und äußerst runden Trinkvergnügen.James Suckling ist begeistert von diesem Wein aus Bordeaux und benotet den Château Castagnac Merlot Raphaël mit 91 Punkten.

Der 2018er Château Malescasse ist ein Spiegelbild dieses Ausnahme-Jahrgangs. Malescasse, seit 2012 im Besitz von Phillipe Austruy, ist seit dieser Zeit auf einem bewunderswerten Höhenflug. Die Hingabe und Investitionen, die Malescasse zu Gute kamen, wurden nun durch die Einstufung als Cru Bourgeois Exceptionel im Jahre 2020 belohnt.Kommt dann noch ein besonderes Jahr, wie es 2018 war, hinzu, kann nur ein großartiger Wein dabei herauskommen!Der Rebsaft, bestehend aus 60% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon und 5% Petit Verdot. Der Rotwein beeindruckt mit tiefdunklen und violetten Reflexen. In der Nase viel schwarze Kirsche, Brombeere, Karamel und etwas Minze. Insgesamt viel Druck, viel Frucht und eine Cremigkeit und Süße, die dennoch nicht die Komplexität vermissen lassen. Also kein "Fruchtkompott", sondern eine üppige Aromatik, gegenbalanciert von feinen Tanninen und einem sehr langen Abgang.Dieser Charmeur hat noch ein langes Leben vor sich und profitiert noch davon, etwas zu warten, bis er sich vollends in der Flasche entwickelt hat. Dieses dürfte etwa 2025 der Fall sein. Wer aber gar nicht warten kann, sollte den 2018er Château Malescasse mindestens 1- 1 1/2 Stunden vorher dekantieren.Aufgrund seiner Intensität ein Wein, der besonders solo beeindruckt. Aber auch zu Wild, Gulasch oder Pasta ein toller Partner.

The estate, whose origins date back to the Middle Ages, is known for its consistent quality work and its ability to produce wines with strong character and longevity year after year. The 2020 vintage benefited from a balanced climate with warm days, cool nights and an ideal ripening period, resulting in excellent concentration and elegance in the grapes.The cuvée of the 2020 vintage consists predominantly of Cabernet Sauvignon (54%), supplemented by Merlot (40%) and Petit Verdot (6%). This classic Bordeaux composition reflects the terroir character of the gravelly soils in Moulis particularly well and ensures complexity and depth.In the glass, Château Poujeaux 2020 is an intense, deep ruby red. Unsurprisingly, the Cantemerle 2019 is a shining testament to this fact, and not just in terms of its beautiful, deep red sparkling robe. The blend consists of 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot and 7% Cabernet Franc.This Cantemerle matured for 12 months in French oak barrels, with 40% new barrels.Lots of blackberry, cassis, tobacco, freshly picked flowers, wood and wild mushrooms on the nose. The palate is not too full-bodied, with polished tannins and good structure. A rather softer representative of the left bank, but still a very classic Bordeaux.
