The 13-month maturation in barriques gives the Antu Chardonnay its special notes of vanilla, pineapple, ripe peaches and a hint of pear. The Neil Ellis Whitehall Chardonnay is a wine that reflects both the terroir and the philosophy of Neil Ellis. The grapes for this Chardonnay come from the Elgin region. A region that is known for its coolness on the Cape and has the most favorable conditions in terms of climate and soil. On the other hand, the Whitehall Chardonnay is characterized by great purity, which is made possible by the meticulous work in the vineyard. The grapes were fermented 100% in barrique barrels. New barrels were used for 25% of this and the rest was processed in second and third-fill barrels. Maturation took place for 9 months in French oak barrels.The color of the Neil Ellis Whitehall Chardonnay is straw-like with light greenish reflections.
