This lovely blend, consisting mainly of Cabernet Sauvignon and a smaller percentage of Petit Verdot, is redolent of delicious black berries, cherries, blueberries, coffee and cedar. It is slightly sweet and fruity on the palate, with sumptuous tannins. The wine has a fine acidity and a marvellous balance. The finish is long.The Thelema Rabelais matured for 20 months in French oak casks, using 80 percent new barrels. The Thelema wine is world-renowned, particularly for its blends based on Cabernet Sauvignon. The complex and full-bodied of Thelema Rabelais lives up to the estate’s reputation and proves that Thelema knows perfectly how to combine the old world wines’ style with the fruity intensity of the new world.This excellent red wine from South Africa is a perfect accompaniment to beef and game dishes.

Tignanello Toscana IGT 2021

Diesen „Super-Toskaner“ braucht man eigentlich nicht mehr vorstellen. Italienische Eleganz, gepaart mit viel Finesse und feinster, vielschichtiger Aromatik bei balancierter Säure stehen auch beim 2021er Tignanello im Vordergrund, der 2021 fünfzig Jahre alt geworden ist. Nie auf der feisten und fetten Seite, nie erschlagend, und doch von majestätischer Figur, immer ausgewogen und höchst vielschichtig. Die Cuvée besteht aus 80 % Sangiovese, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon und 5% Cabernet Franc. An der Nase viel dunkle Früchte, Zeder, Kräuter, Orange, Gewürze, süsser Pfeiffentabak und Pfeffer. Dies setzt sich am Gaumen fort, mit zusätzlichen Noten von Grapefruit, Himbeere, einem Korb voll dunkler und heller Kirschen, etwas Nelken und viel cremigen, sanften Tanninen. Im Hintergrund spinnt eine feine Säure ihre Fäden und hält die Komposition zusammen. Der Nachhall ist extrem lang und nicht enden wollend. Der 2021er Tignanello bleibt dabei immer eine vollendet harmonische Hymne, ohne jegliche dissonante Noten. Wieviel Hingabe und Perfektion diesem Wein zu Teil kommt, wird auch dadurch deutlich, dass er 17 Monate im Fass reift. Davon verbringt er 3 Monate während der malolaktischen Gärung in neutralem Holz und liegt anschließend noch 14 Monate zu 50% in Neufässern. Es ist kein Wunder, dass auch in diesem Jahr das Flagschiff der Marchesi Antinori nahezu einhellig den Highscore der Kritiker abräumt (zu den Bewertungen siehe unten). Wer den Wein bereits heute gerne trinken möchte, sollte ihn mindestens für zwei Stunden vor dem Genuss dekantieren. Ansonsten dürfte er, die Geduld des Besitzers vorausgesetzt, noch mehrere Dekaden Trinkfreude bereiten. Parker: 98/100; Galloni 98/100.

The Tokara Director's Reserve Red has a deep purple color with red brick tones on the rim. An intense and complex wine with aromas of dark berries and cassis on the nose. There are also notes of dark chocolate, herbs such as fennel, wonderfully complemented by nuances of mint, which are so typical of Tokara wines. The Montecastrillo Tinto Ribera del Duero from Finca Torremilanos has a wonderfully fresh and fruity aroma of blackberries, black cherries and plums. There are also harmonious tones of juniper and liquorice, as well as a warm spiciness and nuances of toast. This Spanish red wine is velvety on the palate, with a fine interplay of sweetness and delicate bitterness. Aromas of black and blue fruits are prominent here, along with pleasant mineral notes. The finish is wonderfully fruity.The harmonious, accessible Montecastrillo Tinto is a creation of 90% Tempranillo and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. The red wine from the Ribera del Duero region has a dark purple color with a violet shimmer in the glass. The winemakers at Finca Torremilanos matured the Tempranillo in used French and American oak barrels for 4 months. Incidentally, the barrels come from the in-house cooperage of the Peñalba Lopez family, the owners of the winery. The highest quality standards also apply in the cooperage.Montecastrillo is made from grapes from the youngest vineyards in Torremilanos. The vines are between 15 and 25 years old. Enjoy this red wine from the north of Spain at a drinking temperature of 15 to 17 degrees. It is a good accompaniment to suckling pig and classic meatballs.
