It is therefore all the more important to preserve the original character of this grape. The Pr1mo Numero Uno Primitivo Salento does this very well. Deliberately with a little less residual sweetness and very structured on the palate, this dry wine from Italy is full-bodied but at the same time has a smoothness that is second to none. In a long process with the cellar master and owner Gaetano Marangelli from Cantine Menhir, we have brought the typical Apulian native form of a Primitivo into the bottle.The color is an intense dark red and shows all the power of the sun that was able to flow into the grapes of the Pr1mo. The nose has wonderful aromas of cherry jam, ripe plums and wild berries. Maturing in wooden barrels gives the wine an additional hint of vanilla. Fruit and fullness dominate the palate. The Pr1mo Numero Uno Primitivo Salento is always velvety and balanced. Enjoy the original Puglia.The Pr1mo Numero Uno Primitivo Salento is an all-rounder that can be enjoyed solo or with a good meal. ‘The Uprising’ is a wine that was aged for 30 days in rum barrels and is a tribute to Australia’s Rum Rebellion of 1808. As the rum trade was hindered by the government at that time, citizens and soldiers joined together to bring down the government. The ageing in rum barrels gives this wine its dark, jammy body and a finish characterised by notes of warm brown sugar.The grapes for the 19 Crimes ‘The Uprising’ come from selected vineyards that are renowned for their spice and concentration, giving the wine its great intensity and sensational flavour. In the 2019 vintage, the Shiraz grape variety is predominant, giving the wine light notes of raspberries and a fine tannin structure. The Cabernet Sauvignon grapes produce lovely blackberry aromas and ensure fullness and structure on the palate. The ‘The Uprising’ is rounded off by a smaller percentage of Grenache, giving the wine its spice and sweet fruitiness. On the nose, the wine offers intense notes of mocha, caramel and baking flavours.Like all wines of the 19 crimes line, ‘The Uprising’ has a history of its own:The man depicted on the label was a member of the Fenian brotherhood from Skibbereen in Ireland who played a major role in the Fenian movement right from the beginning. In 1864, he was arrested, found guilty, sentenced to ten years in prison and deported to Australia.

The grapes for Le Rosé par Paul Mas grow in soil composed of clay and limestone. They are harvested mechanically at night. To preserve the grapes’ fruity aroma, fermentation of the destemmed and pressed grapes—at 5 degrees—takes place in temperature-controlled barrels. After three months of aging on the lees, the salmon-colored wine is bottled.This expressive rosé wine offers aromas of red fruits, particularly raspberries. Montes Wings Carmenère

The Montes Wings Carmenère is one of Chile's top wines and comes from the exclusive vineyards of Finca Apalta in the Colchagua Valley. The vines grow on steep slopes, around 200 meters above the plains of the valley, on deep granite soils with a high clay content, excellent drainage and a south-westerly orientation. This unique combination ensures controlled temperatures during the hot summer days and a particularly even ripening of the grapes. The grapes are fully exposed through targeted foliage work, which increases the concentration of aromas and reduces the typical bitter substances of this variety.The grapes are harvested by hand, individually selected and transported to the winery in 10 kg crates. During processing, the best grapes are first selected and destemmed before further selection of the berries takes place - only the optimally ripened grapes make it into the wine. This is followed by 5-7 days of cold maceration at 10 °C to gently extract aromas and color. Alcoholic fermentation is then carried out over 12-15 days at 26-29 °C with selected yeasts in order to preserve the characteristic properties of the Carmenère grape.After fermentation, the red wine remains on the skins for a while to develop volume and depth before being filled into French oak barrels. 80% of the wine matures in new barrels, 20% in second to third use barrels, for a total of 16 months. This ageing gives the wine elegant tannins, depth and complexity.In the glass, Montes Wings has a deep crimson color. The nose seduces with intense aromas of ripe red and black fruits such as plums, sour cherries and blackberries, complemented by fine spicy notes, cassis liqueur and hints of pastry. Subtle roasted aromas, vanilla, slightly sweet liqueur nuances and roasted nuts result from the long barrel ageing. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, silky and harmonious, with soft, perfectly integrated tannins and a long-lasting, complex finish.This Carmenère is an excellent accompaniment to fine meat dishes, such as lamb chops with rosemary, pork ribs or refined cannelloni. It is also an ideal choice with braised beef dishes and autumnal game dishes. Glen Carlou Cabernet Sauvignon

The Glen Carlou Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the Paarl wine region on Simonsberg in the Western Cape. The grapes for this wine are hand-harvested from ten different vineyard plots around Simonsberg. The varying locations and exposures of the individual plots allow for a complex blend, with each lot treated separately until the final blending.After hand-harvesting, the individual lots are first cold-macerated for at least five days. Fermentation then takes place in medium-sized open stainless steel tanks with regular pumping over, followed by a total of twelve days on the skins. A yeast strain is used for fermentation that enhances the fruit-forward character of the respective vineyard sites. The individual lots are then aged for 16 months, primarily in second-fill French oak barrels, before being blended into the final cuvée.On the nose, the wine displays ripe aromas of blackberries and cherries.
