Kanonkop Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

The Kanonkop Cabernet Sauvignon is a single-varietal top red wine from Stellenbosch in South Africa, vinified by star winemaker Abrie Beeslaar. The vines, which are over 30 years old, grow on weathered granite and Hutton soils and produce exceptionally concentrated grapes with a low yield.After traditional mash fermentation in open concrete fermenters and manual punching down of the mash, the red wine matured for 24 months in French oak (50% new). The result is a Cabernet Sauvignon of great depth, structure and elegance.It shines a deep garnet red in the glass. The nose reveals complex aromas of cassis, cigar box, cedar wood, laurel and fine peppers. Powerful and multi-layered on the palate with notes of black cherry, plum, walnut, vanilla and spices. Fine tannins, lively acidity and a long, elegant finish underline the ageing potential of this exceptional wine.The Kanonkop Cabernet Sauvignon is an excellent accompaniment to grilled or braised beef, game, lamb with herbs or mature hard cheese.Recommended drinking temperature: 16-18 °C

The Kanonkop Kadette Cape Blend is the popular entry-level cuvée from the renowned Kanonkop winery in Stellenbosch. This South African red wine blend of Pinotage, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot combines juicy fruit with subtle spice and a harmonious structure.After fermentation in open concrete tanks, the wine ages for twelve months in used French oak barrels. La Bri's cuvée The Affinity is more than the sum of its parts: The wine is only produced at all if the individual grape varieties come together in perfect harmony - which is why entire vintages (2018 and 2019) were deliberately omitted. The result: a carefully composed, richly structured Bordeaux blend that reflects South African winemaking at the highest level.Cabernet Sauvignon dominates in this powerful yet polished blend, complemented by Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. With the Double Door range, La Bri creates space for creative wines beyond rigid conventions - as is the case with this powerful, multi-layered red wine cuvée. The Double Door Red Blend combines 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, 15% Petit Verdot and 6% Cabernet Franc to create a harmonious whole with structure, finesse and elegance.Only grapes from the estate were used for this wine. After fermentation, the individual batches matured for 24 months in used French barriques before being blended into a precisely balanced cuvée.
