The Anthonij Rupert Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the outstanding creations of South African viticulture. The red wine from Franschhoek regularly receives top marks from international wine critics.

This Cabernet Sauvignon impresses with its finesse, depth and balanced interplay of aromas.

The bouquet is complex and wonderfully multi-layered. Notes of dark fruit cake and cherry blossom harmonize wonderfully with subliminal violet tones and nuances of cocoa powder.

On the palate, this South African red wine is dry and elegant, impressively animating and juicy. The notes of the bouquet are reflected in the aromas on the palate. The grapes for this wine come from the Groenekloof region located in the wine-growing region of Darling, where the days are warm and the nights are cool, so that there is a significant temperature difference.This, in combination with the dark red soils consisting of decomposed granite, gives the wine its unique mix of dark and red fruit aromas. Die Trauben für den Protea Chardonnay vom Weingut Anthonij Rupert stammen aus verschiedenen Weingärten in Franschhoek und Robertson. Die einzelnen Partien wurden separat vergoren und zum Teil in französischer Eiche ausgebaut, um dem Wein eine höhere Komplexität und Struktur zu geben. Am Ende wurden alle Partien gemischt und abgefüllt. Noten der Blutorange konkurrieren mit Aromen von Grapefruit und Zitrone in der Nase. Auch am Gaumen findet sich beim Protea Chardonnay die Spritzigkeit von Zitrusfrüchten wieder. Die Saftigkeit einer Blutorange und von Pampelmuse ist im Mund deutlich wahrzunehmen. The Protea Pinot Grigio is truly sprightly and juicy on the palate, showing effervescent notes of stone fruit and fresh, stimulating aromas of citrus fruit. The medium body shows delicious fruit intensified by a vivid acidity. The Anthonij Rupert Protea has a round, rich, dry and sparklingly clean finish. The grapes for the Protea Shiraz come from vineyards located in the Darling region in South Africa where the soils consist mainly of sand and clay. These soils provide ideal growth conditions for the Shiraz grapes. The wine is an intense dark red in colour. It has a wonderful bouquet with aromas of ripe plums, black cherries, spices and dark soil. Complemented by a delicate note of smoke, these aromas continue unabated on the palate. The taste of the Protea Shiraz recalls bilberries, plums, cloves, anise and fine fire clay. The wine has soft and juicy tannins, giving it good concentration and length, with a soft and accessible structure.The Protea Shiraz is an excellent accompaniment to various dishes, beautifully complementing savoury pastries, cold cuts or ham.

The Anthonij Rupert Syrah comes from strictly selected vines from the Franschhoek Valley in South Africa. A pre-selection is made as early as the hand-picking stage. Only the best grapes find their way into the wine. Both the fermentation and the subsequent maturation, which lasts an average of 21 months, take place in French oak barrels. The Anthonij Rupert Syrah was then bottled unfiltered and matured for a further 2 years. The red wine has a wonderful aroma of violets, plums, raspberries and vanilla. On the palate, the wine is amazingly complex but extremely multi-faceted. Beautiful fruity notes are in harmony with spicy notes and a gently integrated tannin structure. The finish is also juicy, balanced and convincingly long.For a long evening in front of the fireplace or as an accompaniment to a festive meal, you will hardly find anything better. Open the wine at least two hours before drinking and give it some time to develop in the glass.

Gut Ding will Weile haben: Eine sprichwörtliche Formulierung, die bei diesem herausragenden spanischen Rotwein auch im Jahrgang 2018 eine maßlose Untertreibung ist. Denn der vermeintlich kleine Vega Sicilia Unico ist immer wieder großes Kino und Zeugnis herausragender Weinbaukunst in der Ribera del Duero-Region.Der Vega Sicilia Valbuena 5° 2018 vereint in seinem Bouquet Noten von frischen Waldbeeren (schwarze und blaue) und getrockneten Feigen mit einer herrlichen Würze. Noten von mediterranen Kräutern, Eichenholz, florale und pfeffrige Nuancen sowie ein Hauch von Vanille bereichern das Bouquet.Am Gaumen ist dieser trockene Spitzenrotwein aus Spanien „reif und mit einer milden Säure, die ihm ein weiches Mundgefühl verleiht.
