The grapes for the Anthonij Rupert Protea Shiraz come from vineyards in the Darling region. A region in South Africa with predominantly sandy, clay and loamy soils. Soils on which the Shiraz grape thrives particularly well.

The red wine has an intense dark red color. It smells wonderfully of ripe plums, black cherries, spices and dark earth. Complemented by a delicate smoky note, these aromas also continue on the palate. The taste of Protea Shiraz is reminiscent of blueberries, plums, cloves, aniseed and a subtle hint of fire. The soft, juicy tannins give the wine good concentration and length. The structure is soft and accessible.

The Protea Shiraz is also an excellent accompaniment to food. It complements pâtés, charcuterie or ham wonderfully.

The Allesverloren Shiraz comes from soils that are heavily interspersed with clay slate and large amounts of loam. The vineyards are located on the south-eastern slopes of the Kasteelberg in the Swartland wine-growing region.The wine has a deep red color, which is surrounded by a garnet rim in the glass. It smells wonderfully of plum and blackberry, black pepper and subtle tobacco notes in the background. On the palate, the Allesverloren Shiraz is full-bodied with a spicy woody note due to its maturation for 15 months in small wooden barrels. Spier Signature Shiraz

The Spier Signature Shiraz comes from carefully tended vineyards in the Stellenbosch region.A short fermentation at low temperatures gives the South African wine a strong character, with delicious fruit flavors. Two thirds of the wine is then matured for around six to eight months in a mixture of French and American oak, which rounds off the wine nicely and gives it extra complexity. Wood and fruit remain perfectly balanced. In the glass, the Spier Signature Shiraz has a bright ruby red color. The nose is dominated by wonderfully intense aromas of sweet fruit, marmalade, rosemary and thyme. There is also a slightly peppery note. On the nose, the red wine is elegant, slightly spicy with light tannins. It is supported by a delicious vanilla aroma, berries, plums and pepper.This dry red wine is a great combination with grilled beef, lamb and game, and is also delicious with duck and quail.

Die Trauben für den Protea Chardonnay vom Weingut Anthonij Rupert stammen aus verschiedenen Weingärten in Franschhoek und Robertson. Die einzelnen Partien wurden separat vergoren und zum Teil in französischer Eiche ausgebaut, um dem Wein eine höhere Komplexität und Struktur zu geben.
