The Protea Cabernet Sauvignon from Anthonij Rupert Wines is an excellent example of South African wine quality at a fair price. The grapes come from the Groenekloof region in the Darling wine-growing area. Here the days are warm and the nights cool, so there is a big difference in temperature. This fact and the deep red soil with decomposed granite give the wine a unique blend of dark and red fruit aromas. The red wine is wonderfully concentrated, soft with a juicy tannin structure.

On the palate, the Anthonij Rupert Protea Cabernet Sauvignon is round, soft, light and well-balanced. Fruit aromas of plum, dark berries and cherries are clearly perceptible, complemented by a delicate spicy note. The fruit notes combine wonderfully with the oak notes and end in a long, harmonious finish.

Wonderful to drink solo at the end of the day. It pairs beautifully with anything that is not too hearty in taste.
