The Protea Cabernet Sauvignon from the Anthonij Rupert Wines estate is a shining example of the quality of South African viticulture and offers fair value for money. The grapes for this wine come from the Groenekloof region located in the wine-growing region of Darling, where the days are warm and the nights are cool, so that there is a significant temperature difference.

This, in combination with the dark red soils consisting of decomposed granite, gives the wine its unique mix of dark and red fruit aromas. The wine is wonderfully concentrated and soft, with a juicy tannin structure. The Protea Cabernet Sauvignon is round, soft, light and well-balanced on the palate, offering clearly noticeable, fruity aromas of plums, dark berries and cherries, along with fine notes of spices. The fruit aromas wonderfully unite with the notes of oak, resulting in a long, harmonious finish.

This wine can be enjoyed simply on its own to finish off the day. It also goes beautifully with all dishes that are not too hearty.
