The Aaldering Shiraz is a wine full of elegance and complexity. It is redolent of dark cherries, raspberries, cloves and white pepper. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, showing a clear structure and a long finish. This Shiraz from the Devon Valley in the Stellenbosch region was aged for more than 20 months in French oak casks, of which only 15% were new barrels, giving the Shiraz grapes as much scope as possible to develop their great elegance. The rest of the barrels were second- and third-fill oak casks.

This is a wonderful Shiraz with predominantly dark and spicy notes. Another six to eight years of ageing will further enhance its qualities.
