Die Beyer Ranch-Weine des kalifornischen Spitzenweingutes Wente sind eine Hommage an die kalifornischen Farmer, die im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes den Boden bereitet haben für den kalifornischen Weinbau. Die Beyer-Familie war die ursprüngliche Besitzerin von einem der heutigen Wente-Anbaugebiete im Livermore Valley. Der Wente Beyer Ranch Merlot ist damit Ausdruck von jahrzehntelanger Sorgfalt und Leidenschaft für den Weinbau. Und das schmeckt man.

Der reinsortige Merlot aus Kalifornien duftet herrlich frisch-fruchtig nach reifen, roten Früchten. Vor allem Noten von Brombeeren, Pflaumen und Kirschen prägen das Bouquet. Am Gaumen ist der Wente Beyer Ranch Merlot trocken und wunderbar ausgewogen. Die weichen, seidigen Tannine sind gekonnt eingebunden. Aromen von dunklen Beeren erwarten die Genießerinnen und Genießer des amerikanischen Rotweins, den auch ein eindrucksvoll langes, fruchtbetontes Finale auszeichnet.

Der trockene Rotwein lagerte für kurze Zeit im Holzfass, was ihm zusätzliche Noten von Vanille und Kräutern verleiht. Die typische Fruchtigkeit der Rebsorte Merlot findet sich auch hier wieder. Der mittlere Körper ist rund und weich. Der Abgang ist harmonisch und frisch fruchtig. With its Höhenflug Merlot, the Hensel winery succeeded in this. The grapes for this wine are harvested as late as possible to capture the last rays of sunshine of the year, resulting in a very concentrated wine that is an intense cherry-red in colour. The wine has a wonderful bouquet offering fragrances of ripe morello cherries and bilberries, complemented by nuances of elder and slightly smoky notes. On the palate, the Hensel Höhenflug Merlot shows lots of melt and an exotic spice. This Merlot was aged in new barriques, giving the wine noticeable but soft tannins, richness and powerful body. This is a red wine from the Palatinate to fall in love with.Try the Hensel Höhenflug Merlot with duck breast or fried chicken. It is also an ideal accompaniment to various cheeses.

Wir vom Vineshop24 sind immer auf der Suche nach etwas Spannenden und Neuem aus der wunderbaren Weinwelt. Dabei wurden wir aufmerksam auf diese Spezialität aus Fronsac im Bordelais, einem trockenen Wein "Sans Sulfites", also ohne zugesetztem Schwefel, mit einem niedlichen Jungen auf einem Traktor auf dem Label. Der kleine Lausbub ist Raphaël, die sechste Generation der Coudert Familie, der das Château Castagnac gehört und der so gerne im Weinberg - natürlich auf dem Schlepper - mithilft. Der Château Castagnac Raphaël Merlot wurde daher nach ihm benannt.Das Château Castagnac arbeitet derzeit daran, das Label HEV (high environmental value) zu erhalten, eine Auszeichnung für nachhaltigen französischen Weinbau. Bei der Herstellung wird zudem auf den Einsatz von Sulfiten verzichtet. Somit fällt bei diesem sulfitarmen Rotwein auch der Histaminwert gering aus.100% Merlot, aus im Schnitt 25 Jahre alten Reben, wird die Fermentation nur mit Hilfe natürlicher Hefen durchgeführt. Es erfolgt auch nur eine sehr vorsichtige Filterung vor der Abfüllung.Der Château Castagnac Merlot Raphaël ist genauso sympathisch wie der kleine Raphaël selbst. Fruchtig, viel Merlot-typische Pflaumenaromen, dunkle Beeren, Haselnuss und etwas Olive vereinen sich zu einem spannenden und äußerst runden Trinkvergnügen.James Suckling ist begeistert von diesem Wein aus Bordeaux und benotet den Château Castagnac Merlot Raphaël mit 91 Punkten.
