Garmon Continental is the third project of the Garcia family, which owns Bodegas Mauro, one of the best-known and most innovative Spanish wineries of the 20th century. The winery's only wine is Garmon, a single-varietal Tempranillo. This red wine comes from vines in the Ribera del Duero region that are between 30 and 100 years old. On average, these vines are 900 meters above sea level, which gives the wine a natural freshness, strength and depth. After 20 months of ageing in French oak barrels, the wine is bottled. In the glass, it shines a bright purple. The Garmon has a wonderfully fresh aroma of blueberries, cherries and exotic spices. On the palate, this Tempranillo is wonderfully concentrated and complex. A full, lively wine in perfect maturity and with velvety, enclosed tannins. Fine notes of smoke and vanilla combined with earthy notes flow into a powerful, mineral finish.

Barón de Ley Reserva Is made from grapes coming from our own vineyards in Mendavia (Rioja Baja). The climate in this part of Rioja, with clear Mediterranean influence, provides excellent maturations which, combined with a low yield viticulture (5.000 kgrs/Ha. aproximately), result in modern Riojas with a “mediterranean soul”; wines with combine remarkable power with the elegance and harmony that have always been characteristic of the Rioja wines. The wine was aged for 20 months in new american oak casks, and afterwards 24 months in bottle until arriving to its ideal moment for enjoyment. This wine has not been submitted to filterings or artificial stabilizations, which might result in the appearance of natural sediments in the bottle.With an attractive red ruby coulour with medium-high intensity, in the nose it suprises for a powerful fruit remarkably blended with traces from its noble ageing: coconut and toffee, evolving into seductive nuances of spices and mediterranean bush. The attack is truly powerful and develops in the mouth a pleasant sensation of volume and onctuosity with drives us to a long finish, nervous and fresh due to its optimum acidity, and bringing back an aftertaste with red fruits and again mediterranean bushes.

There are quite a few people who claim that Aalto wines represent the best of Spanish viticulture in the Ribera del Duero region. Every year, the Aalto wines are once again compared to those produced by the Vega Sicilia estate, and the Aalto wines often win by a nose. For more than 30 years, Mariano García Fernández, the founder of the Aalto winery, was responsible for the wines produced by the Vega Sicilia estate, of which he was the Technical Director. With his own Bodega Aalto, García Fernández wants to achieve the best result without losing respect for the grapes. In creating his wines, he strives for the maximum expression of the terroir, uniting structure and power with elegance and complexity. The Aalto was characterised by a warm winter’s end and an early spring with early flowering. Sufficient rain in summer and a dry autumn led to grapes of an optimal quality. The grapes come mainly from very old vines that are up to 80 years old.The pure varietal Tempranillo (in the Burgos and Valladolid region better known as Tinto Fino) is a cherry red in colour. The wine offers fine notes of spices on the nose, along with light flavours of well-integrated wood. On the palate, the Aalto is wonderfully fresh and dense. Notes of tobacco, coffee and subtle aromas of liquorice reveal the unique style so typical of this Aalto. Due to its soft and round character, the wine can already be enjoyed young. Owing to the soft, enclosing tannins and a good acidity, the Aalto will increase its complexity over the coming years. The ageing of the wine in half new and half used barrels ofAmerican and French oak ensures that it will store well in the bottle. The Muros Antigos Escolha, DOC Vinho Verde from the north-west of Portugal is a cuvée made from the Alvarinho, Loureiro and Avesso grape varieties. Anselmo Mendes Muros Antigos Loureiro Vinho Verde DOC

Der Muros Antigos Loureiro stammt aus dem Lima-Tal. Der gleichnamige Fluss Lima durchzieht das Tal und mündet schließlich in den Atlantik. Dieses Mikroklima verleiht dem trockenen Weißwein vom Weingut Anselmo Mendes seine besondere Aromatik. Anselmo Mendes besitzt 65 ha Rebflächen in diesem vom atlantischen Klima geprägten Tal. Die weiße Sorte Loureiro bringt hier großartige Frische und Struktur mit. Diese Frische und Spritzigkeit gepaart mit einem geringen Alkoholgehalt ergeben einen Weintyp der die Anbauregion in Portugal widerspiegelt. Die Trauben wurden bei der Verarbeitung einer kurzen Mazeration auf den Schalen unterzogen. Danach presste man die ganzen, von den Stielen entfernten, Trauben sanft. Im Anschluss fand eine kalte Klärung für 2 Tage statt. Nach einer längeren Gärung bei Temperaturen zwischen 12 und 16 Grad Celsius lagerte der Wein für 4 Monate auf der Feinhefe.Deutliche florale Noten und intensive Zitrusnoten verwöhnen die Nase. Am Gaumen ist der Muros Antigos Loureiro frisch, trocken und vielschichtig fruchtig. Der starke Charakter der Rebsorte findet auch im Abgang mit Blumennoten ein großartiges Finale.Schöner Begleiter für heiße Tage auf der Terrasse. Perfekt auch als Ergänzung beim Genuss von Schalentieren.
