Garmon Continental is the third project of the Garcia family, which owns Bodegas Mauro, one of the best-known and most innovative Spanish wineries of the 20th century. The winery's only wine is Garmon, a single-varietal Tempranillo. This red wine comes from vines in the Ribera del Duero region that are between 30 and 100 years old. On average, these vines are 900 meters above sea level, which gives the wine a natural freshness, strength and depth. After 20 months of ageing in French oak barrels, the wine is bottled. In the glass, it shines a bright purple. The Garmon has a wonderfully fresh aroma of blueberries, cherries and exotic spices. On the palate, this Tempranillo is wonderfully concentrated and complex. A full, lively wine in perfect maturity and with velvety, enclosed tannins. Fine notes of smoke and vanilla combined with earthy notes flow into a powerful, mineral finish.

Presumably due to its higher concentration, the bouquet of this wine needs some time to open up. There are quite a few people who claim that Aalto wines represent the best of Spanish viticulture in the Ribera del Duero region. Every year, the Aalto wines are once again compared to those produced by the Vega Sicilia estate, and the Aalto wines often win by a nose. For more than 30 years, Mariano García Fernández, the founder of the Aalto winery, was responsible for the wines produced by the Vega Sicilia estate, of which he was the Technical Director. With his own Bodega Aalto, García Fernández wants to achieve the best result without losing respect for the grapes. In creating his wines, he strives for the maximum expression of the terroir, uniting structure and power with elegance and complexity. The Aalto was characterised by a warm winter’s end and an early spring with early flowering. Sufficient rain in summer and a dry autumn led to grapes of an optimal quality. The grapes come mainly from very old vines that are up to 80 years old.The pure varietal Tempranillo (in the Burgos and Valladolid region better known as Tinto Fino) is a cherry red in colour. The wine offers fine notes of spices on the nose, along with light flavours of well-integrated wood. On the palate, the Aalto is wonderfully fresh and dense. Notes of tobacco, coffee and subtle aromas of liquorice reveal the unique style so typical of this Aalto. Due to its soft and round character, the wine can already be enjoyed young. Owing to the soft, enclosing tannins and a good acidity, the Aalto will increase its complexity over the coming years. San Vicente Rioja DOCa - Elegant Tempranillo red wine with depth and structureSince 1991, oenologist Marcos Eguren, scion of a long-established winegrowing family in Rioja, has been producing this grape juice, which is limited to around 60,000 bottles a year. His San Vincente is the modern version of a premium Rioja that combines the best of all Spanish wine worlds. How is this to be understood? The San Vincente preserves the traditions and classic virtues of a Rioja by being aged for 20 months in wooden barrels (90% French and 10% American oak) and then bottled unfiltered. The wine is therefore guaranteed to keep for a long time. However, Marcos Eguren goes far beyond this in his approach to creating a modern and qualitatively outstanding wine; he focuses on a more fruit-driven style than is usual in Rioja.Not just any vines are used, but the noble variety of Tempranillo, namely Tempranillo Peludo, from the company's own 18-hectare Finca la Canoca vineyard, which is located on the best clay and limestone terroir. Anselmo Mendes Muros Antigos Loureiro Vinho Verde DOC

Der Muros Antigos Loureiro stammt aus dem Lima-Tal. Der gleichnamige Fluss Lima durchzieht das Tal und mündet schließlich in den Atlantik. Dieses Mikroklima verleiht dem trockenen Weißwein vom Weingut Anselmo Mendes seine besondere Aromatik. Anselmo Mendes besitzt 65 ha Rebflächen in diesem vom atlantischen Klima geprägten Tal. Die weiße Sorte Loureiro bringt hier großartige Frische und Struktur mit. Diese Frische und Spritzigkeit gepaart mit einem geringen Alkoholgehalt ergeben einen Weintyp der die Anbauregion in Portugal widerspiegelt. Die Trauben wurden bei der Verarbeitung einer kurzen Mazeration auf den Schalen unterzogen. Danach presste man die ganzen, von den Stielen entfernten, Trauben sanft. Im Anschluss fand eine kalte Klärung für 2 Tage statt. Nach einer längeren Gärung bei Temperaturen zwischen 12 und 16 Grad Celsius lagerte der Wein für 4 Monate auf der Feinhefe.Deutliche florale Noten und intensive Zitrusnoten verwöhnen die Nase. Am Gaumen ist der Muros Antigos Loureiro frisch, trocken und vielschichtig fruchtig. Der starke Charakter der Rebsorte findet auch im Abgang mit Blumennoten ein großartiges Finale.Schöner Begleiter für heiße Tage auf der Terrasse. Perfekt auch als Ergänzung beim Genuss von Schalentieren.

The Muros Antigos Escolha, DOC Vinho Verde from the north-west of Portugal is a cuvée made from the Alvarinho, Loureiro and Avesso grape varieties. The individual grape varieties have very different strengths, which they play off together. Alvarinho gives the wine structure, strength and body. Loureiro adds intense aroma and finesse, while Avesso contributes acidity and minerality.The grapes for the Escolha DOC Vinho Verde were gently pressed after destemming. This was followed by very cold must clarification and fermentation at a temperature of 12 to 16 degrees Celsius. Maturation was achieved by leaving the wine on the lees for 4 months. The wine smells of flowers and lots of green fruit. The taste is crisp, fresh and very fruity. The mouthfeel is characterized by good balance and structure.
