The Diemersdal Eight Rows Sauvignon Blanc comes from the Diemersdal wine estate in Durbanville. The grapes come from eight carefully selected rows of a premium vineyard, from which Thys Louw made his first own wine.
The vines grow on gentle slopes with soils of decomposed granite and clay, characterized by the maritime climate of the Atlantic. Cool morning mists and fresh summer breezes ensure even ripeness and intense aromas.
After being harvested by hand, the grapes are gently processed and left on the skins for 8 hours. After pressing, they are left to rest for 36 hours. Alcoholic fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature, after which the wine matures for 6 months on the fine lees to develop fullness and structure.
In the glass, the white wine reveals aromas of nectarine and kiwi, supported by fine mineral notes. On the palate, it is round, balanced and fresh with lively acidity.
The Diemersdal Eight Rows Sauvignon Blanc goes well with tuna, salmon or light fish dishes. Serve at 8-10 °C.
