Springfield Special Cuvée Sauvignon Blanc

The Springfield Special Cuvee is a deliciously fragrant Sauvignon Blanc. It comes from 35-year-old vines rooted in sandy alluvial soil in the vineyard's river basin. The Cuvee is obtained through two harvesting processes. Grown in the winery's best Sauvignon site, this results in a complex wine with a sensual combination of passion fruit, nettles and minerality.

The Springfield Special Cuvee Sauvignon Blanc is refreshing as an aperitif, delicious with a fresh tuna salad, grilled octopus or soft goat's cheese.

Springfield Estate

Product recommendation

Springfield The Work of Time
The Springfield "The Work of Time" is a powerful, Bordeaux-inspired red wine cuvée from Robertson in South Africa.A spicy and sensual aroma on the nose, peppery and open. The broad and complex bouquet of Springfield The Work of Time is accompanied by vanilla, berries, cherries and a hint of chocolate. You can taste a smooth elegance on the palate and a slightly mature taste. There is also a light spiciness, vanilla aroma and cherry. The overall taste is smooth and well-rounded. The grapes were fermented entirely with indigenous yeasts (according to ancient custom) and left on their skins for 5 weeks. This was followed by 2 years of slow barrel ageing and a further 4 years of bottle ageing. The long wait is justified, because "The Work of Time" is a Bordeaux blend with a big statement.Enjoy this wonderful South African red wine from Springfield Estate with grilled ribeye, pasta with anchovies and black olives or old farmhouse cheese.

Springfield Life From Stone Sauvignon Blanc
The Life from Stone Sauvignon Blanc from Springfield Estate in Robertson, South Africa, is an impressive example of the region's exceptional minerality. On the estate's extremely stony quartz soils, the vines thrive in challenging conditions, giving the wine its characteristic pebbly, mineral expression. Every step in the vineyard reflects the meticulous handiwork of Springfield Estates: the planting of the older vines required monumental efforts, sometimes even the use of dynamite, to penetrate the hard rock. The vines are planted on a gently south-facing slope with 6060 vines per hectare. The climate is characterized by moderate summers with cool nights and cold winters, while the southeast wind in summer ensures healthy, aromatic grapes. These grapes are harvested at night and immediately protected with dry ice to preserve their freshness and fine aromas. Before bottling, only a 2.5-micron filtration is carried out - a gentle treatment that preserves the natural freshness and complexity of the wine.Intense minerality meets fresh citrus and green apple notes, which are typical of Sauvignon Blanc. On the palate, the white wine has a powerful, concentrated body, fine elegance and a long, lively finish.Perfect with grilled vegetables, goat's cheese, light pasta dishes with herb or lemon sauces and fresh salads. Particularly delicious with seafood such as prawns or scallops. Served at 8-10 °C, the Life from Stone Sauvignon Blanc reveals its full aroma.
