The Aaldering Chardonnay has an intense bouquet offering notes of peach, lime and mandarin. On the palate, the white wine from the Devon Valley shows a lovely fullness, a creamy juiciness and a prolonged finish as well. This pure varietal Chardonnay consists of three components: the juice delivered by the freshly harvested grapes before they are pressed (‘free run juice’), the part of the wine which was fermented in second-, third- and fourth-fill barrels as well as the must which was aged in stainless steel tanks, making this blend a special taste experience.The Aaldering Chardonnay has a good ageing potential of 5 to 7 years. Anthonij Rupert Protea Chardonnay
Die Trauben für den Protea Chardonnay vom Weingut Anthonij Rupert stammen aus verschiedenen Weingärten in Franschhoek und Robertson. The Diemersdal Eight Rows Sauvignon Blanc comes from the Diemersdal wine estate in Durbanville. The grapes come from eight carefully selected rows of a premium vineyard, from which Thys Louw made his first own wine.The vines grow on gentle slopes with soils of decomposed granite and clay, shaped by the maritime climate of the Atlantic. Cool morning mists and fresh summer breezes ensure even ripeness and intense aromas.After being harvested by hand, the grapes are gently processed and left on the skins for 8 hours. After pressing, they are left to rest for 36 hours. Alcoholic fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature, after which the wine matures for 6 months on the fine lees to develop fullness and structure.In the glass, the white wine reveals aromas of nectarine and kiwi, supported by fine mineral notes.
