In Südafrika ist diese Rebsorte, die ursprünglich hauptsächlich an der Loire beheimatet war, zu einem Trendsetter auf den internationalen Märkten geworden. Neben dem Pinotage ist sie die wichtigste Rebsorte in Südafrika. Wie kaum ein anderes Weingut schaffen es David & Nadia in der Region Swartland dem Chenin Blanc einen expressiven Charakter zu verleihen.

Im Glas schimmert der David & Nadia Chenin Blanc in einem hellen, strahlenden Gold und verführt mit einem komplexen Bouquet von grünen Äpfeln, weißen Pfirsichen und Zitrusfrüchten, ergänzt durch subtile Anklänge von Honig und floralen Noten. Chenin Blanc, the white wine full of character, repeatedly achieves outstanding qualities, especially in South Africa. The Waterford Old Vine Chenin Blanc is the perfect example of this. Some of the grapes used in this white wine come from vines that were planted in 1966, more than 50 years ago. (The second vineyard was planted in 1978) A fascinating aromatic concentration characterizes this white wine from the Stellenbosch region. If you like: With age, you learn more and more to concentrate on the things that matter.Intense fruity notes of pear, grapefruit and peach characterize the bouquet. Harmonious notes of honey and floral tones complete the bouquet. On the palate, the Waterford Old Vine Chenin Blanc is dry, complex and pleasantly soft, with a stimulating minerality and aromatic depth. The finish is wonderfully fresh and fruity.The Chenin Blanc from the Blaauwklippen Valley, which shimmers in a soft greenish yellow, was mostly matured in concrete eggs and a very small proportion in old oak barrels. Meryl Weaver awards 91 points (4.5 out of 5 stars) for the Waterford Old Vine Chenin Blanc 2020 in John Platter's Wine Guide. Her overall verdict: "Ripe pear & stone fruit with soft, creamy texture from two old vineyards (1966 & 1978). Kleine Zalze Family Reserve Chenin Blanc

The Kleine Zalze Family Reserve Chenin blanc is a white wine with very long ageing potential. The winery gives the wine a lifespan of 15 years under optimal storage conditions. This is partly due to the fact that the grapes come from 40-year-old bush vines and find excellent growing conditions in the Stellenbosch region of South Africa. Fermentation and maturation were carried out using used French oak barrels in order to protect the delicate fruit of the Chenin Blanc. Filtration was deliberately avoided before bottling in order to preserve the aromatic fruit in its entirety.The Family Reserve Chenin blanc from Kleine Zalze has notes of white flowers and quince on the nose. The wine has an intense aroma of apricot, lemon, melon and honey. Extremely complex on the palate with well-integrated oak. A hint of minerality on the finish.The Kleine Zalze Family Reserve Chenin blanc is an excellent accompaniment to food. It complements hearty starters as well as white meat dishes and well-seasoned fish dishes.

Groot Constantia Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the historic Constantia wine region in the Western Cape. The vines grow on north-facing, granite-rich loam soils as well as on yellow-brown duplex soils formed from weathered sandstone and granite. The Mediterranean climate, with cooling breezes from the Atlantic, ensures a long ripening period and lends the wine its elegance and balance. The blend consists of Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by Cabernet Franc, Shiraz, and Tannat.The vineyards are trained using the Vertical Shot Position system and are tended and harvested exclusively by hand. Pest control is carried out using organic methods, while cover cropping is employed to promote soil health. On the palate, it is complex and powerful, with a dense yet harmoniously integrated tannin structure that lends the wine depth, elegance, and a long finish.This Cabernet Sauvignon pairs excellently with grilled beef, lamb, game dishes, and braised meats. It is also an excellent accompaniment to aged hard cheeses.

Graham Beck Méthode Cap Classique (MCC) Brut 1,5 Liter Magnum

An all round crowd pleaser and extremely versatile bubbly crafted from a selection of the classic MCC varieties, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Both varietals were hand-picked: Chardonnay at 18-19.5°B for fruit and elegance and Pinot Noir at 18.5-20°B for complexity and length of flavour. In the cellar whole bunch pressing ensures fractional recovery. After settling of the juice the two varieties are fermented separately. They are then cross-blended along with reserve wine if necessary, bottled and left for 15 to 18 months yeast contact time before disgorgement.
