Der Spier 21 Gables Chenin Blanc hat eine blasse goldgelbe Farbe. Das Bouquet ist facettenreich und bietet Noten von weißem Pfirsich und Marzipan. Dazu kommen Aromen von Vanille und schöne rauchige Nuancen. Am Gaumen frisch, cremig und intensiv mit Nuancen von getrockneten Aprikosen. Ein kraftvoller, trockener Chenin Blanc aus Südafrika mit einem feinen Säurespiel.

Der Spier 21 Gables Chenin Blanc hieß in früheren Jahrgängen Spier Private Collection Chenin Blanc. Die Rebsorte Chenin Blanc erreicht in Südafrika Qualitäten wie an kaum einem anderen Ort der Welt. Der Weißwein reifte 14 Monate in französischen Eichenfässern, 46% neue und 54% zweiter Füllung. Genießen Sie diesen Spier-Wein zu crossem Schweinefleisch oder zu Entenbrust mit Honig und Gewürzen.

Spier Wines

Die Spier Wine Farm liegt in der weltberühmten Weinregion Stellenbosch in Südafrika, etwa 50 Kilometer von Kapstadt entfernt. Der Hof hat eine lange Geschichte, die zurückreicht bis ins Jahr 1692. Als einer der ältesten Höfe in der Region ist Spier für seine kapholländischen Giebelhäuser bekannt, eine besondere Form der Architektur. Auf den Ländereien des Weingutes Spier stehen gleich 21 gut erhaltene Häuser. Diese „Gables“ zeugen von den Einflüssen der Gründer aus dem mittelalterlichen Europa und sind eine wahre Attraktion in Südafrika.

Niel Joubert kaufte Spier 1965. Damals war es üblich, Wein für die größeren Genossenschaftskellereien, wie der Stellenbosch Farmers Winery und KWV, zu produzieren. 1971 begann er jedoch mit der Abfüllung seiner eigenen Weinmarken. 1993 ging der Hof in den Besitz von Dick Enthoven über. Unter seiner Führung begann eine umfangreiche Renovierung, um die historischen Gebäude der Farm zu erhalten. Die Wein-Produktion und ein breites Angebot an Freizeitaktivitäten sind heute das Kerngeschäft auf dem Hof. Spier ist in beiden Geschäftsfeldern für seine Nachhaltigkeitsinitiativen bekannt.

Spier 21 Gables Pinotage

For the South African winemakers a good Pinotage is always a challenge. Pinotage makes special demands on the quality of the vineyards and the art of the wine. In the Private Collection the wines have great strength and great depth and it is the art too tame the Pinotage so it becomes not too hard and dry. Perfectly ripe grapes are therefore an important condition. It is taken by the grapes from their own vineyards of Spier in Stellenbosch, where no more than 50 hectoliters per hectare Pinotage is harvested. The grapes are picked by hand in order to arrive undamaged in the basement, without oxidation. The Private Selection is made of only the best parts of the vineyard. The fermentation takes place after a short cold maceration, some in open containers. Then the wine is aged in a mixture of French and American oak barrels. American Wood emphasizes the bright and intense sweet fruit from the Pinotage and accentuates the beautiful character of this variety to a particular way. Colour: intense ruby red. Fragrance: Subtle fragrance with caramalised black cherries, hints of dark spice and dark chocolate. Taste: delicious fruit and elegant taste, pleasant feel of wood and vanilla with a light seasoning, a continuing strength, with great length and nice ripe tannins. Can be drunk now, but can also improve 4 to 7 years.Delicious with a beautiful bouquet with black pepper steak, pasta with pesto and black olives, ripe cheese.

Kleine Zalze Family Reserve Chenin Blanc

Dieses liegt unter anderem daran, dass die Trauben von 40 Jahre alten Buschreben stammen und in der südafrikanischen Region Stellenbosch hervorragende Wachstumsbedingungen finden. Die Gärung und Reifung wurde unter Verwendung von gebrauchten französischen Eichenfässern vorgenommen um die zarte Frucht des Chenin Blanc zu schützen. Es wurde bewusst auf eine Filtration vor dem Abfüllen verzichtet um die aromatische Frucht in vollem Umfang zu erhalten. Der Family Reserve Chenin blanc von Kleine Zalze zeigt in der Nase Noten von weißen Blüten und Quitte. Der Wein duftet intensiv nach Aprikose, Zitrone, Melone und Honig. Der Alvi´s Drift Albertus Viljoen Chenin Blanc ist ein Weißwein aus der Icon Range des Weingutes. Der Wein stammt aus der südafrikanischen Region Western Cape, ist strahlend hell und hat eine blasse zitronige Farbe. Er prahlt mit einer Nase voller intensiver Pfirsich-, Blüten- und Zitronennoten. Diese Aromen setzen sich am Gaumen fort, mit frischen, knackigen Säuren, die perfekt mit festen Tanninen harmonieren. Die Fruchtaromen des Weins entfalten sich wunderbar und verweilen am mittleren Gaumen. Spier Signature Chenin Blanc

This chenin blanc is made from young vines of five years old, which are perfect for a delicious and refreshing dry wine, with lots of fruit. Only when the stakes get older, the wines get more concentration. By keeping the proceeds low, the wine gets a really nice solid and mineral character. Like the other wines in this series he gets after a fermentation process at low temperature aged for a few months on the yeast cells, which makes it nicely rich and firm of character. A delicious, smooth and crisp Chenin Blanc is the result.

Spier Creative Block 2

Beautifully clear with a distinctive green tinge. Hints of gooseberries, crushed nettle and grapefruit with lively acidity.Grapes were harvested early in the morning. After hand sorting the grapes, 6 hours skin contact was allowed at 10°C. The grapes were gently pressed and only free run juice was used to settle overnight. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature at 12.5°C. The wine spent 6 months on its lees before blending.Enjoy now or within 3-4 years of harvest.Serve with Mediterranean tomato based pasta dishes or lemon based roast chicken.
