The Terlan Lagrein DOC impresses with its velvety taste. Lagrein is a leading grape variety in South Tyrol and is currently being rediscovered by wine lovers.The Terlan Lagrein DOC is velvety, elegant and full-bodied. Its dark garnet red color shimmers mysteriously in the glass, the bouquet flatters the sense of smell with clear fruity aromas of cranberry and sour cherry. This is accompanied by fine nuances of lilac and laurel, flint notes and a hint of chocolate. The Lagrein is full-bodied and harmonious on the palate, with a fine texture and delicate tannins.The Lagrein from the Terlan winegrowers' cooperative was allowed to mature in large wooden barrels for seven to ten months.Serve this dry red wine from Italy at a comfortable drinking temperature of 14 to 16 °C. With its strong aromas, it goes well with hearty, traditional dishes such as braised leg of venison or lamb shank or beef roulades with mashed potatoes. The Merlot DOC Riserva Siebeneich offers a complex bouquet, which combines notes of dried plums, cranberries, mint and eucalyptus, complemented by hints of black pepper and subtle oak notes. On the palate the wine shows a stable tannin structure. The fruitiness of the wine is impressive as well as the long lasting finish. 12 months the wine matured partly in large oak barrels (70%) and partly in barriques (30%). Terlan Winkl Sauvignon DOC 2024

This Terlan Winkl Sauvignon DOC is one of the traditional wines of the Terlan cooperative in South Tyrol, as Sauvignon Blanc has long been cultivated by the wineries in the region. The single-varietal Sauvignon matures on the fine lees for five to seven months.This white wine pours an intense straw yellow into the glass. It has a fruity aroma of apricots, mandarins and passion fruit. There are also hints of elderflower, nettle and mint. The fine fruitiness also dances on the palate, accompanied by a harmonious and fine acidity. The Sauvignon is well structured and surprises with an aromatic finish.Serve the Terlan Winkl Sauvignon DOC well chilled at a drinking temperature of 10°C-12°C. It is a suitable accompaniment to green and white asparagus, tuna carpaccio or smoked salmon.

Terlaner Classico DOC 2024

The Terlaner is a blend of Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. It is the historical Cuvée produced since the founding of the winery (1893!). The wine sparkles straw yellow with green hues. On the nose it offers notes of green apple and white peach. They are typical of the classic Terlan. Add to that, even subtle nuances of lemon and mint.On the palate, the white wine is invogorating but very soft. He also impresses with its freshness, minerality and great length.The grapes for the wine were picked and selected by hand. Stations of the winemaking-process: slow fermentation at controlled temperature in stainless steel; storage and ripening for 5-7 months on the lees in stainless steel tanks; finally, the assemblage a month before bottling.At about halfway between the cities of Merano and Bolzano is the wine-village of Terlan. The history of the South Tyrolean Cantina Terlano dates back to 1893. Over this long period Cantina Terlan has built an excellent reputation. The Wine Advocate stated in October 2014: "Cantina Terlano is one of the most prolific wineries in Italy and among the oldest in the region. It offers an outstanding line of wines that embrace multiple styles and philosophies. That inherent flexibility makes this co-operative winery one of the most exciting and innovative models in Italian wine today."Enjoy the Terlaner with salad of raw white asparagus, typical Italian dishes such as pizza and pasta with tomato sauce and focaccia with rosemary or Arrabbiata sauce.
