Der Primitivo di Manduria Riserva Premium Edition aus der Serie Uno des Weingutes Masseria la Volpe ist der Flagship-Wein dieser Linie. Ein erhabener Primitivo von einzigartiger Qualität. Die Trauben werden von Hand geerntet und schon im Weinberg vorselektiert. Das garantiert, dass nur die besten Trauben für die Edition verwendet werden. Die Lese findet bewusst erst Anfang Oktober statt, um eine höhere Geschmacksintensität der Trauben zu gewährleisten. Der Grund dafür ist, dass die Trauben auf natürliche Weise bereits einiges an Flüssigkeit verloren haben und so viel intensiver und konzentrierter sind. Dadurch entsteht nach der Gärung und Reifung auch der hohe Alkoholgehalt. Neben einer 12-monatigen Reifung im Eichenfass, reift der Wein für mindestens weitere 12 Monate auf der Flasche.Im Glas zeigt sich ein dunkles Rubinrot mit einer fast schwarzen Mitte. Der Masseria la Volpe Primitivo di Manduria Riserva Premium Edition duftet Intensiv nach reifen Früchten, wie Pflaumen, dunklen Kirschen und Brombeeren, sowie Pfeffer. Aus der Fassreifung entstehen leicht süßliche Gewürznoten. Der Geschmack ist kräftig und intensiv mit würzigen Anklängen, dazu Lakritze, Tabak und Vanille. Der Wein zeichnet sich durch eine großartige Ausgewogenheit aus, wobei die extrem reichhaltige und reife Frucht perfekt mit Säure und Tanninen harmoniert. Mazzei Concerto Di Fonterutoli Rosso Toscana IGT 2020

One of the forerunners of the Supertuscans, first created by Mazzei in 1981, and still an outstanding red wine from Chianti today: the Mazzei Concerto Di Fonterutoli is also a composition in the 2020 vintage that is exuberantly celebrated by international wine critics. In this quality class, it is almost a bargain from Castello di Fonterutoli, located around 20 kilometers north of Siena.The Concerto Di Fonterutoli is a blend of 80% Sangiovese and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. The bouquet of this Italian red wine is exceptionally multifaceted. "An extremely aromatic red wine," writes James Suckling, who awards it 96 points. After opening the bottle, you can look forward to the scent of blackcurrants, dark plums and ripe cherries. These notes harmonize perfectly with the scent of herbs, earthy tones and a beautiful spiciness (white pepper) as well as nuances of leather and a fine minerality.Dry and powerful on the palate, with a variety and depth of flavors that are not easily found a second time. "Full-bodied and yet so crisp and juicy on the palate with crushed blackberries and raspberries. Citrus-influenced acidity," says Suckling. Monica Larner, who awarded the Concerto Di Fonterutoli 94 points in Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, writes: "There is plenty of sweet fruit on the palate, followed by beautifully integrated, dry tannins." The Concerto Di Fonterutoli matured for 18 months in oak, with the Sangiovese being aged in tonneaux (500 liter barrels) and the Cabernet Sauvignon in French oak barriques (225 liter barrels). "Monumental": that's what the makers of Castello di Fonterutoli themselves write about their Mazzei Siepi 2020. And what can we say: they're right. The red wine from Tuscany is an outstanding creation. The blend of 50% Sangiovese and 50% Merlot from the Chianti Classico region has enchanted international wine critics. "An exceptionally beautiful wine. I love it," says Decanter (98 points), for example, while Monica Larner writes in Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (95 points): "The Mazzei 2020 Siepi is a magnificent vintage."The bouquet of the Italian red wine seduces with its complexity and the wonderful interplay of fruit, spice and floral notes. "Graphite and pencil come through, along with violets and blackberries. Also some tar and asphalt," writes James Suckling, who awards 98. Castello di Fonterutoli itself discovers crunchy elderberries, plums, berries, sandalwood and tobacco on the nose, while Decanter says of the bouquet: "Dried herbs and sweet spices on the nose, forest notes with blackberry fruit, concentrated and expressive." Cherry notes also characterize the bouquet.On the palate, the Mazzei Siepi 2020 is dry, wonderfully soft and at the same time crisp and fresh, with impressive elegance and depth. The fruitiness is fascinating. "Such a smooth transition on the palate, the tannins glide over the tongue and give the sweet strawberry, raspberry and plum fruit time to expand in the mouth," enthuses Decanter. Aromas of blueberry and blackberry also enrich the play of flavors. Everything is round and in perfect balance, with a fabulous length.This Super Tuscan matured for 18 months in French oak barrels, 70% of which were new barrels. The Merlot was matured in barriques (225 liter barrels), the Sangiovese in tonneaux (500 liter barrels). The blend was then aged for three months in cement tanks.The Mazzei Siepi 2020 is already a real treat. However, it has enormous ageing potential. Suckling writes: "Already ready to drink, but will age gracefully for decades." The makers of Castello di Fonterutoli expect it to age for more than 20 years.Enjoy the Mazzei family's creation with a fine blue cheese. More pleasure is not possible.

‘Mea Culpa’ means ‘my fault’. Mario Minini from the Cantine Minini estate used this expression ironically to name his outstanding red wine. In his opinion, he created the best cuvée that can be made using the Appassimento method.The Mea Culpa Vino Rosso in an extraordinary wine in all respects. The Primitivo, Shiraz and Merlot grapes for the Appassimento cuvée come from two very different wine-growing regions in Italy. The Primitivo grapes come from Apulia, of course, while the Shiraz and Merlot grapes come from Sicily, wonderfully uniting to create this excellent blend. The responsible wine-maker Mario Minini and his team of oenologists worked on the optimal composition of this blend for a long time. The result is a medium-dry red wine, offering an abundance of aromas on the nose.Fine notes of chocolate, nuances of tobacco and strong fruit aromas of blackberries, strawberries and dark cherries unite with notes of mocha and vanilla. On the palate, the wine shows a vivid acidity and a fine tannin structure. The full but elegant body has an exquisite structure. Due to the ageing in 225-litre oak casks made of French oak, the Mea Culpa Vino Rosso offers notes of vanilla and tobacco in its finish.It is an ideal accompaniment to meals. The Castel Firmian Moscato Giallo, produced by the cooperative wine-growers from Mezzacorona, is a wonderfully accessible taste experience from South Tyrol. On the palate, the Moscato is sweet and very aromatic.The intensively straw-yellow wine from the southern part of the province of Trentino near Lake Garda is partly made from yellow Muscat grapes that dried naturally on the vine. This Pinot Gris from South Tyrol has a wonderfully multi-faceted bouquet offering notes of white peach, pear, camomile and, due to the ageing in wooden casks, sweet aromas. The Castel Firmian Pinot Grigio Riserva is harmonious, elegant and refined on the palate, showing a fresh, aromatic finish.Forty per cent of this light yellow white wine was aged in steel tanks, while the rest matured in barriques before the wine was blended after 10 to 11 months.
