Winzer Stefano Chiarlo ist zurecht stolz auf den Michele Chiarlo Cipressi Barbera Nizza. „Ein Wein mit intensiven Noten von Himbeeren und kleinen roten Früchten, kombiniert mit einer süßen und feinen Würze. Das Geschmackserlebnis ist eine seltene Balance (dank des Jahrgangs) zwischen Opulenz, Frische und Würze im Abgang.“ Auch die internationale Weinkritik ist sich einig, dass der Barbera d’Asti etwas Besonderes ist: 94 Punkte im Wine Enthusiast und 90 Punkte von James Suckling sprechen eine deutliche Sprache.

Der reinsortige Barbera vereint in seinem Bouquet Noten von reifen Kirschen, Himbeeren und süßliche Noten von Tabak. „Weinige Aromen frisch gepresster Trauben, duftende blaue Blüten und reife Heidelbeeren bilden zusammen mit einem Hauch von Graphit und Unterholz“ das einladende Bukett, urteilt der Wine Enthusiast. Suckling schreibt dem italienischen Rotwein „jede Menge Holunderbeeren, Vanille, Pflaumenkern und dunkle Schokolade“ zu.

Am Gaumen ist der Rotwein aus dem Piemont anregend komplex, mit vollem Körper, merklichem Holz und einer eindrucksvoll frischen Weichheit und Rundheit. Auch hier zeigt sich die schöne, fruchtbetonte Aromentiefe (Kirschen, Brombeeren). Im Zusammenspiel mit den samtigen Tanninen entwickelt sich eine große Harmonie. Das Finale ist angenehm würzig.

Batasiolo Barbera d’Alba DOC

Rubinrot mit violetten Reflexen schimmert der Batasiolo Barbera d’Alba im Glas. Der Rotwein aus dem Piemont duftet herrlich anregend nach Pflaumen und Kirschen. Dazu bereichern florale Noten das Bukett (Veilchen und Rosen). Hintergründige, würzige Noten komplettieren den Duftstrauß.Am Gaumen ist der Rotwein aus dem Piemont vollmundig und trocken, mit einer angenehm milden Säure, viel Fruchtigkeit (süßliche, schwarze Früchte), Nuancen von Schokolade und einer tollen Frische. Das Finale ist angenehm weich. Die Trauben für den Batasiolo Barbera D'Alba werden in Edelstahltanks vergoren. Etwa 40 Prozent des Weines reifte für ein Jahr in Barriques aus französischer Eiche heran, der übrige Teil in großen Holzfässern aus slawonischer Eiche. Nach der Vermählung des Weins ruht er noch für gut zwei Monate im Edelstahltank.
