Ca’ Rugate Valpolicella Rio Albo DOC

The Valpolicella Rio Albo DOC was produced at the Italian winery Ca' Rugate. Here, a history spanning more than 100 years comes to life—a history that has been inextricably linked to the Tessari family and the dark, volcanic soil of the Rugate hill for four generations. Three grape varieties—Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella—were blended into this dry red wine, with the finest grapes sourced from various vineyards in the hilly landscape of Montecchia di Crosara. The soils in this area are calcareous and rich in gravel.

During vinification, fermentation takes place on the skins for 7–10 days, followed by aging in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks.

The Ca’ Rugate Valpolicella Rio Albo DOC displays a ruby-red color. Its bouquet is characterized by intense and persistent aromas reminiscent of blackberry and cherry. On the palate, this fruity red wine is soft, slightly tannic, and full of flavor.

These flavors unfold best when served at a temperature of 14–6 °C. This Valpolicella pairs excellently with white meat and particularly dry cheeses. It is also well-suited as an aperitif.

Biscardo Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG
This top wine from Veneto has an intense, garnet red color. The grape varieties Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara, which are characteristic of the region, give the wine its unique taste. Intense and persistent cherry aromas on the nose. On the palate, it is velvety, slightly bitter and reminiscent of cherry and bitter almonds. Incidentally, the Italian "amaro" means bitter. The grapes ripen on the hills of the small villages around Verona at an altitude of 150 to 400 meters above sea level. They are harvested by hand, usually at dawn or in the evening. This prevents the harvested grapes from being exposed to excessive heat and losing freshness.The quality of the grape skin is particularly important for Amarone, as it determines the tannins, color and flavor intensity. Incidentally, legend has it that a cellar worker in the 1930s actually wanted to create Recioto, but forgot the wine in the barrels. Fermentation continued and the sugar was converted into alcohol - which also explains the bitterness.Mabi's Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is an excellent accompaniment to red meat and game.

Tenuta Sant Antonio Scaia Paradiso
The Tenuta Sant Antonio winery is located northeast of Verona and surrounded by its own vineyards. With the wines of the Scaia line, the Castagnedi brothers fulfilled their dream of creating wines that better meet the requirements of young winemakers.The Tenuta Sant Antonio Scaia Paradiso is a cuvée consisting of the Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Cabernet Sauvignon grape varieties. The Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are dried for 20 days before they are pressed. After the gentle pressing of all the grapes, the wine is aged for 20 days with selected biological yeasts in temperature-controlled, stainless-steel tanks. Afterwards, the wine matures for one year in 500-litre French oak casks.The bouquet of this ruby-red wine recalls Maraska cherries, wild berries and candied fruit. The bouquet is complemented by spicy notes of black pepper, liquorice, cocoa and tobacco. On the palate, the Scaia Paradiso is a genuine charmer - soft, warm, velvety.The fruity, spicy red wine is a perfect accompaniment to pasta dishes with truffles, meat ragout, grilled red meat and ripe cheeses.

Ca' Rugate Campo Bastiglia Valpolicella Ripasso DOC
In der für den Ripasso typischen Weinbereitung wird der Trester des Amarone zusammen mit dem Valpolicella Rotwein nochmals vergoren. Die anschließende Reifung erfolgt zu 50% in Tonneaux (große Eichenfässer) und zu 50% in Edelstahltanks über einen Zeitraum von etwa 8 Monaten.Die Farbe des Weins ist granatrot. Die Aromen sind fruchtig mit Noten von Kirschen und roten Früchten mit blumigen und würzigen Nuancen. Der Geschmack im Mund ist voll und samtig dank der weichen Tannine.  Der Ca' Rugate Campo Bastiglia Valpolicella Ripasso DOC ist ideal als Aperitif und ebenfalls geeignet als Essensbegleiter zu roten Fleischsorten und mittelaltem Käse. Die empfohlene Trinktemperatur liegt bei 16° C.
