The white wine then matures for two winters in large wooden barrels, developing complexity, depth and a harmonious texture.In the glass, it is a bright yellow with green reflections. The history of the Bernhard Ott winery began with the Ried Rosenberg 1 ÖTW. The Veltliner vines rooted here are among the oldest on the estate, and their potential and strength were evident from the very beginning. Rosenberg was the estate's first official single-vineyard bottling and to this day stands for a powerful, long-lived Grüner Veltliner that combines substance, structure and elegance in perfect balance.The vines, over 50 years old, grow on deep loess with limestone, on a north/south-facing slope at 270 to 330 meters above sea level. Despite its maturity, it retains a certain slenderness and unfolds with complexity and depth - just like the historic site in which its vines are rooted.The Ried Stein vineyard above Engabrunn is one of the most outstanding sites in the Kamptal. Southwest-facing slopes up to 350 meters above sea level, loess layers over a geological mosaic of Gföhl gneiss, old marine deposits and gravel deposits characterize this white wine. The cool microclimate and humus-rich soils give it freshness, minerality and structure.The vines, which are over 50 years old, are carefully harvested by hand.
