Bernhard Ott Grüner Veltliner Ried Kirchthal Erste Lage

The Ried Kirchthal Grüner Veltliner from the Bernhard Ott winery has been a Erste Lage (ÖTW) since the 2023 vintage and comes from the highest vineyard in Feuersbrunn at up to 370 meters above sea level.

The vines are rooted in deep loess soils with Haller Schlier, which lend the wine structure, minerality and precise spiciness.

The grapes are harvested by hand, gently processed in the basket press and fermented spontaneously. The white wine then matures for two winters in large wooden barrels, developing complexity, depth and a harmonious texture.

In the glass, it is a bright yellow with green reflections. Fresh apple and pear aromas are combined with fine spice and an elegant minerality. On the palate, the Bernhard Ott Grüner Veltliner Ried Kirchthal Erste Lage impresses with clarity, lively structure and a precise, long finish.

At a drinking temperature of 10-12 °C, this Grüner Veltliner is ideal with grilled or steamed vegetables, light poultry dishes, fine herb pastas or mild goat's cheese. Its freshness and structure also harmonize with delicate asparagus dishes and subtly spiced risottos.

Bernhard Ott Grüner Veltliner FASS 4
The Grüner Veltliner FASS 4 from the Bernhard Ott winery in Wagram is a white wine with character and history. It all began in 1989, when Eduard Ott invited friends to a vintage tasting and the fourth barrel emerged as the favorite - a tradition that is still upheld today. For this white wine, small parcels are vinified separately and then blended into a harmonious cuvée. In this way, it is possible to capture the year in all its diversity and allow its special features to linger in the glass - in honor of father's legendary FASS number 4.The grapes come from village vineyards in Feuersbrunn, Gösing and Engabrunn. Vines up to 30 years old on loess, gneiss and gravel soils produce aromatic, structured grapes. They are harvested by hand, gently pressed and fermented spontaneously. Since 2018, part of the Bernhard Ott Grüner Veltliner FASS 4 has been matured in Stockinger wooden barrels, which lends depth, texture and character without masking freshness and elegance. In the glass, the wine is light yellow with greenish reflections. Apple and pear aromas are combined with the typical peppery spice, and the palate is characterized by a lively structure, minerality and a clear, animating finish. At a drinking temperature of 8-10 °C, the Bernhard Ott Grüner Veltliner FASS 4 goes perfectly with Wiener Schnitzel, fried chicken, fried fish or vegetable dishes - even slightly spicy Asian dishes harmonize perfectly.

Birgit Eichinger Grüner Veltliner Lamm 1 ÖTW Kamptal DAC - Elegance from the KamptalWith great care, consistency and flair, Austrian winemaker Birgit Eichinger creates her highly elegant wines with a strong character. She not only puts her head but also her heart into her work and demonstrates her skills in her creations, such as the Grüner Veltliner Lamm Kamptal DAC.The Lamm vineyard is located on the south-eastern part of the Heiligenstein. The terroir is loess-loamy, characterized by the geology in the subsoil by the elements of the Heiligenstein (sandstone, volcanic stone, strong silt content) and the slope leans to the south. The geographical location and the vineyard make it possible to produce exceptional Grüner Veltliners that guarantee elegance and grace. The hand-picked grapes are pressed in October. The resulting must is left on the skins to extract as much aroma as possible from the berry skins. This is followed by spontaneous fermentation and ageing in large and small wooden barrels.
