The vineyards are located on the south-eastern slopes of the Kasteelberg in the Swartland wine-growing region.The wine has a deep red color, which is surrounded by a garnet rim in the glass. It smells wonderfully of plum and blackberry, black pepper and subtle tobacco notes in the background. On the palate, the Allesverloren Shiraz is full-bodied with a spicy woody note due to its maturation for 15 months in small wooden barrels. Allegranza Tempranillo 2023

Allegranza Tempranillo is a wine made from 100% Tempranillo grapes from the La Mancha region. This Spanish region is known for its optimal ripeness and uniformity in quality. The wine was fermented in stainless steel tanks and then matured for approx. 3 months in French oak barrels.The Allegranza Tempranillo has a ruby red color and is reminiscent of aromas of dark cherries and blackberry jam on the nose. There are also notes of exotic herbs and eucalyptus. It is wonderfully smooth and medium-bodied on the palate. A beautiful vanilla note and the taste of delicate milk chocolate pamper the palate.This red wine is an excellent accompaniment to tapas, grilled meat, lamb chops or an aromatic paella with chorizo. It is also an ideal accompaniment to strong cheese or pasta with a spicy tomato sauce. An every day wine, beautifully simple or just simply beautiful!

The Allesverloren Red Muscadel (also known as Red Moscatel) is a fascinating sweet wine from Swartland in South Africa, made from 100% Muscat grapes. This gem of a wine full of character comes from a single vineyard at the foot of the Kasteelberg, where drip irrigation and shady vines provide optimal ripening conditions.In the glass, the Red Muscadel shimmers with a deep salmon hue and seduces with intense aromas of ripe red fruit, sun-dried raisins and a hint of cinnamon. On the palate, it delights with a fine sweetness that combines harmoniously with lively acidity and ensures a complex, lingering taste experience.The wine is matured in the traditional sweet wine style: alcohol is added after fermentation (i.e. spiking) to preserve the natural sweetness. The depth and intensity are maximized by pumping over during maceration. The pure varietal Cabernet Sauvignon from the Alto Wine Estate located in the Stellenbosch region is a lovely example of South African viticulture. Winemaker Bertho van der Westhuizen selects only the best grapes to produce this wine. The vines grow on soils consisting of decomposed granite, while the subsoils are clay, giving the Alto Cabernet Sauvignon its finesse and intense character.The wine is a deep dark red in colour, indicating its power. The Alto Cabernet Sauvignon offers aromas of dark fruit, cedar wood and spices in its spicy bouquet, along with mineral notes and nuances of dark chocolate. Der Blend aus 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Cabernet Franc, 18% Merlot und 3% Petit Verdot duftet nach roten und dunklen Früchten (Johannisbeeren), erdigen Noten sowie nach Fynbos, den für Südafrika typischen Gewächsen. Weinkritiker Greg de Bruyn beschreibt das Bouquet in Platter’s Wine Guide so: „Waldboden-Erdigkeit, jodhaltige Mineralität und saftige Cassis-Frucht, durchzogen von Tabakwürze.“Am Gaumen ist der Rotwein aus der Stellenbosch-Region trocken und vielschichtig, mit großer Konzentration und Frische. Die schöne Mineralität und die aromatische Tiefe (dunkle Beeren im Vordergrund) runden das Geschmackserlebnis ab. „Geschmeidig und rund nach 18 Monaten in größtenteils neuem Eichenholz“, urteilt auch de Bruyn. Der warme Jahrgang 2018 brachte Trauben mit sehr konzentrierten Aromen hervor. Alto Rouge 2020

The Alto Rouge consists of 5 grape varieties: Cabernet Franc, Shiraz, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. The grapes for this wine come from north- and northwest-facing vineyards located on the slopes of the Helderberg Mountains. Thus, the vines are cooled by a fresh breeze in the afternoon, supporting the wine’s elegance and balance. The Alto Rouge is a deep ruby-red in the glass. On the nose, aromas of red fruit are predominant, along with hints of chocolate and light notes of woodchips. This cuvée is distinguished by its soft tannins and wonderful fruit aromas. Overall, this is a wine with style, lots of complexity and a high ageing potential. Winemaker Bertho van de Westhuizen recommends enjoying the Alto Rouge with game birds and tender red meat.

Der Alvi´s Drift 221 Pinotage ist ein Rotwein aus der südafrikanischen Region Western Cape. Er besticht durch eine mittelintensive schwarze Kirschfarbe und einem jugendlichen violetten Rand im Glas. Dieser beliebte Pinotage mit konzentrierten und geschmeidigen Aromen von süßen Brombeeren und Maulbeeren, mit einem Hauch von süßen Gewürzen ist ein echtes Geschmackserlebnis. Der Alvi´s Drift 221 Pinotage ist ein mittelkräftiger, gut ausgewogener Wein und zeichnet sich durch eine feine Tanninstruktur und lebendige Säuren aus, die in einem anhaltenden fruchtigen Abgang gipfeln.Um die Komplexität des Weines zu erhöhen, stammen mindestens 30 % aus mit wilder Hefe vergorenem Pinotage, der bis zu 12 Monate in amerikanischen Eichenfässern gereift ist und überwiegend aus älteren Rebstöcken stammt. Spieler der für die Springboks - Südafrikas Rugby-Nationalmannschaft – als Spieler ausgewählt wurde. Er schaffte Historisches indem ihm der erste „Versuch“ (im englischen Try) gegen die damals schon übermächtige Mannschaft der All Blacks (neuseeländische Rugby-Nationalteam) gelang. Gegen die sogenannten „Unbesiegbaren“ war das natürlich etwas ganz besonders. Mit der 221-Reihe zollen das Weingut Alvi´s Drift dem Patriarchen Oupa Alvi und den siegreichen südafrikanischem Rugbyteam Springbok Tribut.
