The pure varietal Cabernet Sauvignon from the Alto Wine Estate located in the Stellenbosch region is a lovely example of South African viticulture. Winemaker Bertho van der Westhuizen selects only the best grapes to produce this wine. The vines grow on soils consisting of decomposed granite, while the subsoils are clay, giving the Alto Cabernet Sauvignon its finesse and intense character.The wine is a deep dark red in colour, indicating its power. The Alto Cabernet Sauvignon offers aromas of dark fruit, cedar wood and spices in its spicy bouquet, along with mineral notes and nuances of dark chocolate. It is rich and concentrated on the palate, with a balanced structure. The fine tannins and the notes of dark fruit make this wine a wonderful taste experience and simultaneously emphasise its prolonged finish.The Alto Cabernet Sauvignon goes beautifully with steaks or roast lamb. The Kanonkop Cabernet Sauvignon is a single-varietal top red wine from Stellenbosch in South Africa, vinified by star winemaker Abrie Beeslaar. The vines, which are over 30 years old, grow on weathered granite and Hutton soils and produce exceptionally concentrated grapes with a low yield.After traditional mash fermentation in open concrete fermenters and manual punching down of the mash, the red wine matured for 24 months in French oak (50% new). The result is a Cabernet Sauvignon of great depth, structure and elegance.It shines a deep garnet red in the glass. The Life from Stone Sauvignon Blanc from Springfield Estate in Robertson, South Africa, is an impressive example of the region's exceptional minerality. On the estate's extremely stony quartz soils, the vines thrive in challenging conditions, giving the wine its characteristic pebbly, mineral expression. Every step in the vineyard reflects the meticulous handiwork of Springfield Estates: the planting of the older vines required monumental efforts, sometimes even the use of dynamite, to penetrate the hard rock.The vines are planted on a gently south-facing slope with 6060 vines per hectare. The climate is characterized by moderate summers with cool nights and cold winters, while the southeast wind in summer ensures healthy, aromatic grapes. These grapes are harvested at night and immediately protected with dry ice to preserve their freshness and fine aromas. Before bottling, only a 2.5-micron filtration is carried out - a gentle treatment that preserves the natural freshness and complexity of the wine.Intense minerality meets fresh citrus and green apple notes, which are typical of Sauvignon Blanc.
