The Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2019 is a powerful, elegant red wine from one of the world's most renowned wine regions. As the flagship of the Californian winery Silver Oak, this vintage impressively reflects the special signature of the house as well as the exceptional quality of the Napa Valley.The Napa Valley, known for its variety of microclimates and soils, offers ideal conditions for the cultivation of Cabernet Sauvignon. Silver Oak sources the grapes for this wine from carefully selected parcels in the valley, including its own vineyards. The 2019 vintage benefited from an even and long ripening process with mild weather - an almost ideal year for the grape harvest. The grapes were harvested precisely at the optimum time for ripening, which is reflected in the intense aromas and balance of the wine.Silver Oak has stood for an unmistakable style since its foundation: the wine, consisting of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot, as well as some Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec, matures exclusively in American oak. It was then matured in the bottle for a further 15 months before being released for sale. The result is a wine of high concentration, remarkable depth and great ageing potential - at least 20 years of ageing is considered realistic for this vintage. The careful vinification and craftsmanship are reflected in the flawless structure and elegance of the wine.In the glass, the wine presents itself in a dark purple red with dense color intensity. The nose reveals complex aromas of blackcurrants, ripe cherries, blueberries and mocha, underpinned by fine roasted notes, vanilla, tobacco, nutmeg and a hint of liquorice. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and polished, with silky, finely integrated tannins, lively acidity and a long, harmonious finish. For the South African winemakers a good Pinotage is always a challenge. Pinotage makes special demands on the quality of the vineyards and the art of the wine. In the Private Collection the wines have great strength and great depth and it is the art too tame the Pinotage so it becomes not too hard and dry. Perfectly ripe grapes are therefore an important condition. It is taken by the grapes from their own vineyards of Spier in Stellenbosch, where no more than 50 hectoliters per hectare Pinotage is harvested. The grapes are picked by hand in order to arrive undamaged in the basement, without oxidation. The Private Selection is made of only the best parts of the vineyard. The fermentation takes place after a short cold maceration, some in open containers. Then the wine is aged in a mixture of French and American oak barrels. American Wood emphasizes the bright and intense sweet fruit from the Pinotage and accentuates the beautiful character of this variety to a particular way. Colour: intense ruby red. Fragrance: Subtle fragrance with caramalised black cherries, hints of dark spice and dark chocolate. Taste: delicious fruit and elegant taste, pleasant feel of wood and vanilla with a light seasoning, a continuing strength, with great length and nice ripe tannins. Can be drunk now, but can also improve 4 to 7 years.Delicious with a beautiful bouquet with black pepper steak, pasta with pesto and black olives, ripe cheese.

Most of the grapes for the FAY Cabernet Sauvignon come from the middle and lower plots of the Fay vineyard, where they develop the characteristic red fruit aromas particularly beautifully and intensively. Der Steenberg Catharina ist ein Bordeaux Blend, wobei die Stilistik an die Weine des rechten Ufers der Gironde erinnern. Kein Wunder, ist dieser Rotwein doch Merlot dominiert. Die Rebsorten wurden jeweils einzeln vergoren und für 18 Monate in neuen und gebrauchten Eichenfässern gereift. Danach gemischt und für weitere 6 Monate im Holz gereift. Entstanden ist ein subtiler, verführerischer Wein.Der Steenberg Catharina Red Blend zeigt in der Nase eine Fülle an dunklen Kirschen, Zigarre, Kaffee, Vanille, Preiselbeeren und Bitterschokolade. Vielschichtig geht es auch am Gaumen zu; hier präsentieren sich konzentrierte Fruchtaromen von Himbeere und Johannisbeere. Rund und mit viel Tiefe und eingeschlossen von einer samtigen Textur kommt im Abgang seine tolle Frische zum Ausdruck.Der Catharina Red Blend von Steenberg ergänzt als Essensbegleiter dunkles Fleisch mit kräftiger Sauce ganz hervorragend.

Der Name des Weines klingt vielleicht so schon ein bisschen archaisch, aber der Stellenzicht Acheulean Red beschreibt die Ursprünge des Bodens auf dem Weingut. Hier wurden ovale, flache, zugespitzte Faustkeile (Steine) gefunden, die aus der archäologischen Kultur der Altsteinzeit stammen und das beschreibt das Wort Acheulean. Also ein ganz besonderer Boden auf dem die Reben für diesen Rotwein wachsen. Es handelt sich dabei um eine exquisite Balance aus 45 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 40 % Shiraz und 15 % Cinsault.In der Nase findet sich eine stillvolle Vanille- und Gewürznote. Am Gaumen startet der Acheulean Red von Stellenzicht kraftvoll mit gut integrierten Tanninen, einer üppigen roten und schwarzen Frucht und feinen Röstaromen. Der Geschmack ist wunderbar griffig und von einer festen Struktur. Ein Wein herzhaft und komplex mit einem großen Potenzial. Die Reifung erfolgte in unterschiedlich großen Eichenfässern und dauerte bis zu 18 Monaten, um der jeweiligen Rebsorte die optimale Entwicklung zu ermöglichen. Der Stellenzicht Acheulean Red wird für weitere 10 Jahre viel Freude bereiten.Lediglich 3000 Flaschen werden alljährlich von diesem außergewöhnlichen Wein vinifiziert. Genießen Sie den Acheulean Red zu einem besonderen Ereignis oder mit guten Freunden bei einem exquisiten Essen.
